Forum is crawling again

Getting both 502 and 504 today. Got a 502 just trying to get into this thread.

For a while, these hangups and long loading times would only happen maybe 1 or 2 hours out of the day, if at all. Maybe it's my imagination, but lately it seems like it's becoming more frequent, and lasting for longer periods. Today, there was maybe 1 or 2 hours that it WASN'T doing this. It was happening all morning and early afternoon, it got normal for a few hours, and now back to the 30sec loading times or erroring out.

I can't help but wonder if Future decided to downgrade the hosting server.

Even when the Americans ought to be asleep, threads are still taking >10 seconds to load, but earlier this morning (UK) I was getting gateway errors.

Just now 'threads with your posts' took over 20 seconds to load (I stopped counting after 20).

So far today, the site is slow-ish...but <knock on wood> no 502 or 504 errors...and it's still MUCH faster than yesterday.

still is bad for me, but better than yesterday. Still (as you see) 502 and other errors, and slowwwww at times.

Each day I'm more convinced that they migrated to a cheaper option for the host server. This is practically unusable at this point.

Yeah. It's like Future is trying to close down their various forum holdings. I hit up this site just about every day. Just when a few old members come out of hiding, this crap happens.

If you use Chrome and open Developer Tools, Network, Time, you will see tons of webapge's elements took over 300ms and more to load.

The latest wait..... stats.g.doubleclick.net/.

One way or the other, seems like most of the delays are for something other than forums.anandtech.com, 3rd party clicker stats. In other words, its all about money, but their other sites suck in performance.
