Hey in case anybody hadn't noticed it's still happening...
But, for the most part, we're not customers...however, why buy a major tech site and associated forums...then let ir run like a 50 cent per month GoDaddy site? How in the hell can a major website go all day, day after day with no response time, and stay in business ? Future needs to realize how bad this is, and they are losing customers every day ! This is beyond unacceptable.
Every click of your mouse, and in fact every post here complaining gives money to Future. So we are customers that pay them to use their site. Its not cash, its advertising money. But, for the most part, we're not customers...however, why buy a major tech site and associated forums...then let ir run like a 50 cent per month GoDaddy site?
So the patient is dead. Only thing keeping it breathing is this life support thing.
Pull the plug? Have a monster thread in OT where we plan migration to one of the other sites?
Well, I have to say I have never experience a site this bad in the past 30 years!I regularly use a number of other XF forums and none, not a one have had this problem for this long.
I doubt many XF forums are this big. This one has, what, >40 million posts in >2.5 million threads?I regularly use a number of other XF forums and none, not a one have had this problem for this long.

Edit: I just checked Ars Technica. They have a few more posts (maybe 1 million more), but fewer threads by about a million.
Seeing very slow/no loading pages with various 502/504 gateway errors here.
Not impressed. 62 million posts over 1.1 million threads and 2 million members is only one of the boards I use. And a large number opf those threads have 10s of thousands of posts in just the last year or less. They get hundreds of new members weekly. Some members with less than 5 years time in have close to 100,000 posts.I doubt many XF forums are this big. This one has, what, >40 million posts in >2.5 million threads?

Most of the threads I see here are quite old and current day-to-day traffic is minimal. People here with close to 100,000 posts have been here for 20 years.
