Or it has run into some file count limitation in the folder if all images are being stored in a single folder. I think you can't have a few million files in the same folder, at least on Windows. The fact that it's showing the filename only means that it can access the filename from the DB but not the actual storage drive. There won't be a crash if the DB and actual images are on different storage devices. At least MS SQL Server has some optimal cluster size requirement which is too big and wasteful to store smaller files so it wouldn't be wise to put other files on such a drive. I don't know about other DBs.Did the server run out of disk space? Sometimes it's easy to miss the obvious things lol. I would expect the whole DB to crash if that were the case but worth checking.
