I don't know how easy this will be to pull off but how about a round of Cops & Robbers. Too bad you don't have spike strips available like there are in NFS but I would think its doable to an extent. You start of with 1 or 2 people as cops and the rest as robbers. The robbers get a headstart (how much depends on the course) and then the cops take off after them or they can lie in wait somewhere on the course. Once a cop car tags a robber they switch places. Winner is the person that spends the least amount of time as a cop.

Hmm that could be fun, it might take a couple of runs to get used to it, could get a little confusing.

I thought I posted in here earlier...

I really like the even playing field of the stock races. They also help to speed up the car selection process so everyone can jump right into the next race. So with that in mind, since I originally threw out the Saturn Ion (Class D, PI 384) suggestion, perhaps others would like to choose a specific car from the C, B, and A classes and we'll run a few races with each. If that sounds good to others, I'd definitely be up for it. If not, you won't hear any whining from me.

We can definitely do that, I figure we can even just change cars as we go, and tracks at the same time.

I think stock races could be fun as long as everyone knows beforehand so they can get the correct cars if they aren't given as a stock car in the non-garage area. I think it could make the field closer simply because everyone doesn't have the time to setup a car for B700 or whatever the max is for each class.

I'll have to go home and look at some interesting cars for us to race stock.

I don't think we really need to have any "alternative" race types... I mean, if we were playing one of the games that had those modes built in, sure, but we all got (and play) Forza for the racing, and I would think the more "simulation" aspect.

I will admit having a good time when we did races on the Speedway, but that was mostly due to going fast and being encouraged to run into people.... So, maybe a few races every week that are "crash and smash"? That one muscle car race early on when everyone got to the first corner and there was a great big pileup because no one could turn or brake well was great fun, and so far as a group of players, we've been very "well-behaved" in our races.

Other than that, I really liked having a plan ahead of time, like the muscle car night. We just need pick a few "types" for our weekly races... car class, specific cars, car type, or a night on one or two of the harder tracks to get good practice on those tracks.

My 2 cents.

Good idea Guuts. Forza is a racing sim. PGR4/Burnout is for the reckless events.

I agree. I don't mean this in a way that would intentionally offend superjohnyo, but I enjoy Forza for the straight-up racing.

EDIT: Not to mention that it might be nice to hit that 1 million online credits earned achievement sometime this century. How close are you to that Waldo/Abel?

I don't have half the cars yet either, but can certainly buy a few from the dealerships if needed...and if they're not 100k credits each...

As for tuning, if you're going through career mode, you really should upgrade and tune your cars, especially if you're going to be using that car for multiple events. You first need to upgrade just about all the Suspension parts to "race" so you get full adjustability, then you can use one of the online tuning calculators ( I've been using: http://www.redshirt1701.com/Forza2/suspensioninput.cfm ), which are quite simple. Make the recommended adjustments to your car, and it gives you a fairly nice, general tune. I usually then adjust the gearing (usually just the final gear) and the aero for different tracks.

You can get the engine and tire upgrades (definitely get the racing tires), and the weight reduction, though I think that's actually under the suspension area, which I mentioned above.

way more work then need. buying new parts is fine and all but that website is excessive. i guess this really isnt my type of racing game.

Hey I understand you guys, I am definitely not suggesting we only do 'fun' stuff - but I think that a good balance of competitive racing and a little craziness can make the night that much more enjoyable. I know sometimes when Waldo and CK are 2000 feet ahead of me for the whole race it can get discouraging, but when we take a break and I get to knock their bumper off it kind of balances out.

I'd say your ahead of me more often than not, I just had a few good races at the end of the last session. The solution seems simple enough to me, we all race in B class while Waldo races C.

I think I am around the 400,000 mark for online credits. My career credits are closing on the 10 million mark.

I think a same car race would even things out more than anything. I spend hours sometimes tuning cars for certain tracks and stuff and it gives me an unfair advantage sometimes when I know what to expect out of my car in certain corners. But hey, I am up for anything that resembles racing!

Maybe he could use a horse and buggy...

Or a tricycle!

Or we could have him tow the rest of us so he doesn't finish a minute ahead of us.

I kid, Waldo, I kid, I kid!

I've really got to find a way to get my 360 online without dropping $100 on the wireless adapter (which doesn't support WPA2 from my understanding) and preferably without running a cat5 cable from my router. I've tried and tried to no avail to get ICS working on my laptop but I just can't get it to work. I'd really love to join in on these game nights

You should be able to get a wireless router/bridge and connect that to the xbox, that would only be 20-40

I've thought about that but haven't found any products outside of getting something like a WRT54GL and putting DD-WRT on it. That's a bit overkill, I think. It's also like $60, which if I can avoid it, I'd like to not spend that much. Hopefully they make bridges with multiple cat5 jacks - or is that becoming too close to router territory? I don't have one currently but at some point in the future, I may build an HTPC and don't want to wind up not having the ability to get that online, too.
