Well I'm running a viper SRT10 right now and she's handling very well. Just a few little minor tuning issues to work out but so far it's working really well.

More of the performance index is in handling on this car unlike the vette. Strange that I can't change the width of the tires, but there's plenty of rubber as it is. Overall a VERY well handling car. Even going on my ghosts with the vette this think is killing it.

600+ torque/HP, hella torque and 2620 pounds means she's got the goods.

Very nice Blortov. I play on a 42" 1080p screen as well. It is excellent!

I've got the "old" version of that TV in 720p, the 42HL67. I loves it.

Being the lazy bum I am does anyone have a well working build I can use??

Nice looking TV there, Blortov. I got a 50" Pioneer plasma a few months ago and it's fantastic. Forza never looked so good.

Saleen S7.

I am not sure I will have the power to keep up with you guys as I get the feeling that some of you will have some serious speed demons out there, but I like the car a lot. It runs well, handles well, and I am getting more used to it every time I drive it.

I have tried running with and w/o the rear wing (w/o it gives a big jump in speed and accel) but I am having a hard time with control on the car w/o the wing. There is very little to adjust on an S7 unfortunately as it's pretty loaded in stock form so not much I can upgrade. I would love to hear any suggestions on a good tune for the S7 w/o the rear wing.

Current upgrades installed are -- sport tires, full race trans, race brakes, race clutch, 2-way diff, race flywheel, forza 2 rear bumper, and the rear wing. This takes me to S998 class and is easy to drive with some applied downforce. Once I ditch the rear wing speed and accel categories go from 7.1 - 7.5 (as I recall). Handling of course drops at least 2-4 tenths of a point and you can really feel the difference out on the track.

I am also curious as to what other S Class American cars would have a good mix of accel & handling.

And just as a reminder (mainly to Queasy) I am DQing myself from the paint contest for this week (5/7/08) since my car came to me prepainted. You can post the pics if you like but no need for voting.

Greg

**EDIT: Like Spidey I tried a Vette as well and I just couldn't handle it. I forget which one it was but I just felt a little out of control.

Anyone tried a GT40?? This seems to be a popular car on the Forza Forums as well.

Im going to be running the Dodge Viper Comp Coupe S998. I didnt realize before I bought it that you can't buy a adjustable spoiler for it, so I'm a little more squirrelly in the rear tires than I would like, but it turns like a champ if I can manage to lay off the throttle just a bit. I posted a 1:25:8 on laguna seca after the tires warmed up, so I think I'll be competitive (I hope). The ratings on the car are:
Speed: 6.9
Acceleration: 7.5
Braking: 6.1
Handling: 6.2?

On the benchmark tool it says I have a top speed of 169

7.5 Accel .. nice!! You'll have the edge coming off the corners/turns as long as getting on the throttle does throw you around too much in the back end.

I plan on running some laps tonight if I actually have time. Need to bust out the steering wheel because the controller is pissing me off.

Ditto I'm having this problem also but I'm running a lame ass FWD VIS Integra (it's in the north american class I think).

As for settings I found an online tuning calcutor http://www.croisened.com/

No hate, just not what I am used to. My car is badass as it is. Can't wait to get the steering wheel on it!

What the thought on race tires vs sport tires? I'm just barely above 998 right now and if I move to sport tires instead of race I can add more power. Race weight reduction and only intake/exhaust. Still around 600 hp/tq with a pretty flat curve.

Speed: 6.5
Acceleration: 7.4
Braking: 6.9
Handling: 6.7?

Yeah, I went and snagged one on the auction house for 40k last night to see what the fuss was about. After tomorrow, you'll have to send me the tune so I can check it out. I'm loving mine, though. Fast, both top end and accelerating, and it handles and brakes well. Tomorrow should be a fun night of racing.

I'll probably be around for some lap running tonight so if you want to practice some together, send me a message/invite.

I did make up an S997 car - can't find a way to get it to S998 - that I think would be amazing if it turned better. Its 0-60 is like 1.8 seconds. It's unbelievably fast.

I'll let Waldo spill the beans on his car if he wants but the lightning on wheels is the Infiniti G35.

No beans shall be spilled! The G35 with the AWD swap is intense! I've made a few AWD cars but the understeer with all the power we're putting down is too much. Rear wheel is the way to go.

That's exactly what I did. It's just bonkers. Understeer was definitely the problem. As was braking, even with the race slicks, widest tires, weight reduction, aero, and the race brakes. I've got another car in a similar fashion but not quite so crazy that I'm going to run the first time we have a theme night that it fits in.

Looks like my Wednesday racing nights may have come to an end; My summer league softball team (mens competitive) is going to start up and the only day everyone can practice is Wednesday nights unfortunately. I'll still try to catch the beginning or ending races depending on what time we actually practice.
