Post your demo times so we can update the 2nd post peeps!

The majority of my time is in the Porsche, I need to break 1 minute and I really need to try the other cars!

Mini - 1:16.574
Evo - 1:12.645
Ferrari - 1:09.920
Audi - 1:05.955 (this is easily my least favorite car...)
Porsche - 1:00.714

Make sure you're married or dating before you buy it, because no woman would ever voluntarily spend time with a grown man who plays with a toy plastic steering wheel.

Personally, I don't see the point. It rarely improves your times, even if you get used to it, and they're expensive. And the best ones aren't compatible with anything anyway.

Not true. The new Fanatec Porsche wheel works on all 3 Platforms (360, PS3, PC). Yeah it is expensive as all get out but it will work on all platforms.

Ah, I see. I was referring to the Logitech wheels that everyone raves about but which don't support the 360. And I'm also aware that it's pretty much MS's fault that they don't work with the 360. What I didn't seem to understand was why all the people in the Forza threads (who presumably all own Xbox 360s) would spend such a huge amount of money on a useless (to them) accessory. I guess enough of them have PS2s, PS3s, or play PC racing games that it's worth it to them.

Any reason why Fanatec's wheel is compatible but none of Logitech's have ever worked with the 360? Is it just MS being a dick with their demands and Logitech refusing to meet them?

From what I understand it's simply the way the 360 is designed, it lacks the hardware to interpret the G25's commands.

From what I understand it's simply the way the 360 is designed, it lacks the hardware to interpret the G25's commands.

So basically, MS refuses to comply with standards (what else is new), and Logitech refuses (or is unable, due to MS secrecy) to make special input devices just for the 360.

I'll be in once the game comes out, cash is tight atm and I can't afford XBL Gold. See you guys on the track on the 28th though! Gamertag is CapinTater, Waldo has me from my short lived Forza 2 appearance.

I'm hoping to be there day one. Even with insurance my diabetes has been a costly venture, and cash is really tight. I have a $6000 endocrine panel coming up before the release. For all that are wondering I am doing a lot better. It's still a struggle as they try to figure out the proper dosage of my meds, but I'm hanging in there.

so i read of the realistic pricing model of forza 3. I would like everyone to save up 50K credit prior to our first event as I will hope that's will be more than enough to cover for a banging D or C class car.

The way I've interpreted it is that yes, there is a realistic(ish) pricing model but they also throw ALOT more cash your way than they did in FM2. I'm thinking the day after release we'll be good for a racing night...maybe. And if not we can do arcade mode (if it exists).

What the hell, toss my name in (ItsaMamaLuigi). I broke down and pre-ordered the game anyway, even though I said I wasn't going to. It looks like enough of an improvement over the previous one to be worth it.

Not sure when I'll get it since I preordered from Amazon and chose Super Saver Shipping, so no release day delivery, but I'll probably make it to the second race night.

There's a good chance I'll be late to the party. Between getting things for the house and starting to pick up christmas presents, just don't have $50-$60 to drop a game right now.

That's gonna make me sad hopeless...and you know what happens when I get sad?

You need to get it new nonetheless or you'll miss out on the "buy it new" tracks that come as a code in new game purchases.

I was reading about the MP modes today. I think we're gonna want to run more modes. I also think that, at least for the first few weeks, one night isn't going to be enough! Besides the normal modes, what mode is everyone looking forward to out of the pre-made templates, ie Single Race, Timed Race, Point-to-Point, Drag, Drift, Multi-class, Tag (Pass the IT), Tag (Keep the IT), Tag (Virus), Cat and Mouse, and Elimination. I thin Elimination will be something we'll have to run.

I also think we're going to have to be creative... Such as from the ign MP info at IGN

In the advanced rules, you can really get into the nitty gritty. The most important choice is the Scoring Type. This is how Forza 3 determines who wins a match. You can choose time-based, time spent in group, drift points, distance traveled, and keep it clean. For each of these, you can choose if "bigger is better." That means that you could create a "distance traveled" match where bigger is not better. This means that the car that travels the least distance wins. Imagine teams trying to push the opponent's car further down the track. Weird? Yes. But possible.

Its gonna be like a kid in a candy store...

I went and put another $20 down on my LCE copy this weekend. i traded in a bunch of games I brought my kid for the 360 and got her some games for the Wii I picked up used for $35. Still have $58 bucks to go but I get paid on the 24th and will hopefully be able to put the rest down then.

So...we racing on Wednesday? I will (literally) have less than 2 hours in the game come Wednesday night but I assume there's some pre-unlocked cars. It'll be fun to get out there and try some various game modes.

Also, any update on Skinnee? Haven't heard from him since his mother passed away. Hope you're doing well bro! Stop by and give us an update when you read this.
