After how out of hand stuff got with Gran Turismo 5 and 6, it's actually a change for them not to have tons of tracks and cars. It is very disappointing though with the small track and car list but they obviously have gone back to basics which the series desperately needed. I'm gonna fire it to up tonight after work. Can't wait to see it in HDR.

got to play a bit last night again, really digging it now. was doing a nice blend of custom and sport races trying to drive as many different courses as possible. disabling or setting TCS to level 1 really helps if you want to stay in the power band while heading around slight apexes and long sweeping corners. the AWD cars you can pretty much disable it completely. setting fast lap times feels great in the game and I do like the focus on professional gameplay. there's no damage modeling at all, kind of like the classic GT games, but I think I can live with that.

oh, and the default soundtrack ain't half bad either... it's that sort of mixed genre easy listening stuff that I typically associate with GT games.

I was one of the fools who actually believed they had 1201 cars.
Then I got into the game and realized tons of them are exactly the same, and was less impressed.
I will say the Suzuki GSX/4 made it all worth while.

Kept wondering what the hell was going on as the car was auto braking and steer correcting. Turned that stuff right off. So much better now.

If anyone cares to know... disabling the "boost" strength setting makes AI drivers much harder to keep up with. I ended up doing this in a few custom races because I wanted some quick cash. The 25 minute endurance races with AI set to Pro and Boost to none makes for a very competitive experience. Highly recommend. You can also start way at the back for a nice increase in payout.

Also, I figured out you had to upload your liveries before you can apply them to use. Rocking a sea foam green Civic type R with Nurburgring flair

Good to know.

Yeah, before disabling the boost it was just a matter of time before I caught and overtook all of the AI drivers, but now it's very difficult to even keep up, depending on what you're driving. For powerful RWD cars I like the traction control at 1, or 2 max. Any heavier (3 is the default I believe) and I can't corner very well. Once you get a feel for when to throttle up coming out of a corner having the TCS disabled (or severely reduced) will absolutely help your lap times. So long as you don't just stomp the gas--because the rear end will just kick out.

Front wheel drive and AWD cars I disable it completely.

Do you play with a wheel or controller?

if I have a bit of time I'll set up the wheel, if not I just use the gamepad... manual trans either way. I also prefer the chase cam if I play with the controller because I like to see where the rear end of the car ends up coming out of the corners. also, I can't see my sweet decals when I use the dash view

oh, and it looks like there is some mild damage modeling if you get hit hard enough. that's way better than in Forza where you lightly bump someone and the whole front of your car is smashed in. it's so difficult keeping the powerful rides pristine in that game, especially when the AI just slams into you.

I fine this one more difficult to play with on a controller than I remember. You definitely need to make sure you brake correctly and turn when you need to to even pass the basic school tests.

Is GT:S killing anyone else's wrists/hands or just mine. The degree of precision is taking its toll on my old wrists.

braking and throttle control can be tough on the gamepad; the rear triggers aren't great for racing games imo. I had to install different ones on my PS3 controllers for GT5

if you're using a wheel, you should be able to make some adjustments to improve how the game responds to input. if you use the controller, I'd recommend a few little ergonomic tweaks. you can get more comfortable grips, sticks or use a different control scheme. not real sure how well the tilt steer controls work, probably awful though.

So, if anyone else on here is still playing GT:Sport, it just got another update with some new content:

Patch 1.13 on YouTube

There have been some really great additions to the showroom lineup as well as some pretty fun new course variants. I'm hoping that they continue to roll out additional real-world tracks, most notably Fuji, Sonoma, Leguna Seca, and Silverstone but it's already been confirmed that they are working on some wet weather versions for some slippy fun.

A few of the new cars include: '97 Toyota MR2, Alpine A110 (classic and new models), Lamborghini Aventador, Mach I Mustang, and the '10 Audi R8 Tronic FSI
