Hey guys, I have a question about the classes and upgrading in Forza 7

I wanted to do a multiplayer S class race, using my Ferrari F40, which has a default rating S 750

All the other cars in the lobby were at S 800

When I attempt to upgrade my F40 past the 750 rating it says its no longer in S class so how can other people have cars rated higher than 750 but still in S class?

Does anybody know why I cant boost my S class cars past 750 when the limit for FM7 S class is supposed to be 800?

Whenever I attempt an upgrade that puts it past 750 it says I am exceeding the class restrictions.

OP, your problem is not going up to the limits of S class, it is that the division that the F40 falls into does not allow you to upgrade the car to S800.

All cars now belong in divisions. Each car belongs to exactly one division and it can only race against cars in the same division. All divisions have restrictions in terms of performance index, horsepower, and tires.

The division that your F40 belongs to obviously has a restriction on performance index of S750. You can upgrade your car past S750, but if you do, you will not be able to race it at all. So, in practice, you cannot upgrade it past S750.

This also means that, for instance, your F40 will never be able to race against a Ferrari Enzo or Ferrari La Ferrari. No matter what you do, because they are not in the same division.

Why did they do this? They want to encourage you to collect more cars so that you will be more likely to use loot boxes/microtransactions.
