For some reason I can't get in to certain sites; it won't pass through my router. I have tried this through a hard-wire cat 5 connection and I have also updated to the latest firmware. When I try to access via direct connection to the modem, it works fine. I don't want to have to keep changing the cables around every time I access Yahoo mail. Anys suggestions?

Edit: I also have configured DMZ to that computer and that still didn't work.

Your router isn't set to block those sites or sites containing anything with certain words in it, is it?

Not possible. The WRT54G isn't that smart. The only thing I can think of would be certain ports, but it should all be coming through port 80. Strange...

rhk0327, have you tried the factory reset? It's something freaking crazy like pressing and holding the reset button, unplugging the router, holding the reset button for 30 seconds, plugging the router back in, then letting go of the reset button. ... Yeah, I know, but I've got two and that works every time.

Also, when you're updating your router's firmware, make sure you've got the right one. There are three different versions of the WRT54G. Look on the bottom of the router and you should find either 1.0, 1.1, or 2.0. Make sure that when you download the firmware version for the router, you're getting the matching firmware update.

Are you talking about the secure sections of those sites or just the sites? All the info should be going through 80 http. Id try a reset like suggested

Hmm, when I re-enabled the firewall (built in with router) and re-check block anonymous internet requests it started working. This is very counter intuitive. Any explanations?
