Myth what? Pretty much fact that cold->warm->cold beer tastes horrible. If it was warm all its life and the plan is to drink it warm or cool it, he's good to go.

I have never once experienced this, and I buy not-cold beer off the shelf all the time. It's possible that it was never refrigerated prior to me buying it, but that seems unlikely.

I have never once experienced this, but then again my beer doesn't get warm very often.

I haven't either, but I aim for consistency for just about everything. A consistent suboptimal tempertature is almost always better than changing the temperature several times.

I hope someone already told the OP that beer is not pasteurized.

Oh, and if he thinks beer can be made without living things, then I wonder what he thinks beer is supposed to be...

A lot of them are pasteurized actually.

I remember growing up in Indiana, people bringing Coors into the state was a big deal att as it was not sold there there in the 70's at the time because it was not for that reason.

Personally I avoid the cold/warm/cold again possibility of skunk beer myself.

A family member brought beer when they came to visit one Christmas and forgot one in my parents' fridge. They don't drink beer. Next Christmas my parents brought it up and we all wondered if it would still be good so he drinked it, and said it was fine.
