Foundry Switch vlan Configuration

Hey Guys, I am a Cisco person myself, when it came to port/vlan configuration on a cisco swtich i would initiate the fallowing commends

en
show run
config t
int gi port number
switchport access vlan #
switch port mode access
ctr z
wr me

now i am currently tasked with administrating a Foundry Switch with somewhat similar code configuration, but for the life of me i am having problems figuring out how to assign a port a specific vlan number

any help would be greatly appreciated

I think it is just "vlan #" Been a long time since i've been on one though.

Might want to check the documentation, it's generally straight forward.

i was hopping for a quick and easy copy & past example -/ anyone ??
(interesting enough on Google, there is ample of information in regards for Cisco equipment, but when it comes to Foundry very limited.

I assume you've figured this out by now but the syntax is like this:

conf t
vlan 5
untagged eth 5 to 10

And you should see:

added untagged port ethe 5 to 10 to port-vlan 5.

Change vlan #'s and ports as needed.

The post above only works if your port is sitting in the default VLAN.

Finally figured out how to do this for changing a port on a Foundry switch from one VLAN to another:

1) you have to REMOVE the switchport from it's existing VLAN, that will put the port in the default VLAN. apparently you can only add switchports to a VLAN if it resides in the default VLAN.

- show vlan ethernet xxxx (enter your switchport where the x's are)
- this shows you which VLAN your interface currently sits in
- conf t
- vlan xx (the result from the show vlan command)
- no tagged ethernet xxxx (enter this if the port is in the vlan as tagged)
- no untagged ethernet xxxx (enter this if the port is in the vlan as untagged)
- end
- wr mem

Now your port is in the default vlan:

- conf t
- vlan xx (the VLAN you want the port GOING to)
- tagged ethernet xxxx (if you want the port tagged, x's are port number info)
- untagged ethernet xxxx (if you want the port untagged, x's are port number info)
- end
- wr mem
- show vlan ethernet xxxx (this is to check that your port now resides in the desired VLAN)

i have been tasked to work on foundry i have sound knowledge of cisco ios but new to foundry ios.

can someone give me code for below ?

-create 3 vlans (named 23,24,25)
-assign first 8 ports to 23,next 8 to 24, next 8 to 25 ( i am using edgeiron 4802cf)
-make port 48 as trunk and only allow vlan 23 and 24 on it.
