#1 priority should be jobs for Americans. How? Better trade agreements and getting rid of illegals. You want to have MFN? Fine, then float your currency or face a tariff at the level of your arb. Want to have free trade? Fine, reciprocal policies.

This one the questions were way over everyones head.
They think they know it all, and their so called ideas would be written in stone.
We all know that if any one of them tried as president to abolish the IRS, the IRS would kill them off in their sleep.

Missed a good portion of it, but what I saw was interesting in the fact they are starting to challenge each other's positions in a substantive way. I felt like we actually got to see some of the splits in the party, esp in regards to the ME/ISIS.

There were some interesting exchanges on financial policy as well (taxes, banks, tbtf.)

Imo, many of the leading candidates are busy painting themselves deep into corners for the general. You are starting to see establishment members criticizing the extreme positions.

Kasich is the huntsman of 2016, most reasonable, more experienced and pragmatic, but the base doesn't want any part of that. Actually booed him when he challenged Cruz for being an ideologue peddling fantastical policies that stir passions but make no sense (my paraphrase)

This is true, but base wants the Congress to control the fed, go back on gold std, and massively cut taxes to run trillion dollar deficits, meanwhile build up the military, pick fights with Russia, and when the bills come due, refuse to raise the debt limit and let the country default.

Paul backs all that too, but isn't hot on shooting down Russian planes flying over Syria and starting WW3
