Using your logic and reasoning - ANYTHING can have two supportable absolutes.

So your "point" is not really anything substantial.. Simply a troll and attack on Christianity.

Quote the Bible? C'mon now...lets not bring red herrings into the picture.

Wow....seems I've offended you and your version of Christianity....

How is this an attack on Christianity? Which Christianity am I attacking?

This lady's view are supported by the Bible which is all I said. Am I right or am I wrong?
You are right according to Jewism. You are wrong according to Christianity.

Since Christianity is the new covenant with God, the current covenant, you are wrong.

A Christian is wrong to behave the way she is behaving. The New Testament, the basis of Christianity, does not support what she is saying.

A Christian is wrong in spreading the word?

I would say that the old laws should not be done away with as prophecy has not been fulfilled.

Is she spreading the message of forgiveness and love through Jesus Christ? Or is she spreading hate and judgement?

The old laws should not be ignored, but Christ was clear in saying which of the commandments are most important.

Hate? She is informing people of what awaits instead of doing nothing. I see love for her fellow man and a wish for them to change their ways. Love doesn't always mean being nice.

Most important?

not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven

So I'm assuming that this statement was a positive one on Christianity?

I really don't think we should start talking about logic and the Bible..........Both absolutes can be supported ................ah ...the beauty of the bible. Maybe you want to play quote the Bible or something?

If that's the case then I was wrong about you attacking Christianity.

Offended? Not really..just pointing out that not only are you saying 1) the Bible supports the lady's views. 2) That the bible also supports what other people have been saying in this thread. Again, I say sooo whats your point? No one who reads this thread thinks that you are being objective in your statements.

You continue to make these statement #1 every time that a person responds they feel she is wrong. Again, what's your point? Are you defending her? Or are you trying to slip some weird attack on people's views/Christianity in every time someone disagrees with her. Unless you have something significant to say - i would say you're just trolling - either to antagonize people or attack Christiantiy.

You got upset and started making rude comments - perhaps I have offended you?

First...where did I make rude comments? I guess you are just unfamiliar with me.

Obviously one view has to be supported more. If not what can be said for the book you put so much stock in?

Again....yes I will defend her.

Where is the reverend with tats? He would probably be more interesting here............

One view has to be supported more? Uhhh... ok....so now you're making the statement that there IS one absolute view of what this woman is debating?? That's totally going back on your initial "anyone can be right - including this woman" type of statements that you have made.

If you're defending her right to believe what she wants to - no one is attacking her on that - so everything you said was pointless then. Because no one was debating that. However, if you're defending her views as correct and similar to your own - well I just have to say that's messed up and wrong - you can believe in what you want, but thats my opinion.

Cmon now... the following statement isn't a rude one?

What....are you a fvcking philosophy major=college dropout?

And it is kind of weird that you've ignored the fact that I've answered all your "questions."
I've pointed out that you did attack Christianity and that you were rude. Yet no response? Hmmm. I have a feeling that you're kinda ignoring everything that was stated and now the thread is unraveling into simple bickering instead of debate. Well if that's the case, then debating with you would anymore would just become a never ending cycle of back and forth. At this point - I'll have to say we'll just have to agree to disagree.

No wonder FOX brought her back on. It's target audience is mostly the mainstream Christian community, isn't it?
What better way to make them think you're the best channel in America by yelling at the lady that she is the devil and going to hell?

Hehe, if that clip was news and intelligent analysis, jerry springer could be someone's college education.

Unfortunately, the mainstream christians will never get the point the atheists make, so atheists, pls, STFU already.
These are people who have dedicated their lives, all that time, all that energy and effort, and now you think that 3 sentences from you is going to convince them? Just accept the world as it is. They won't convert, you won't convert. Enough already.

You know how I know? I'm an atheist married to a christian who got called a heathen. HAH!

Nope, there are only a couple vague verses that deal with homosexuality, and a LOT that deal with grace and mercy.

If not then one cannot say that her interpretation of the Bible is any less valid than their's. So which is it? Is this woman's 'church' a hate group' or is it a church with foundations in the Bible? Is her view a misinterpretation of the Bible or is the Bible a 'hate book'?

No you have assumed I am attacking Christianity and have stated that you have percieved me as being rude. I've responded several times but it seems reading is not your strong suit.

This thread is " unraveling into simple bickering" because you cannot support the arguement that started this.

 but it would seem you've had a bit too many already...........

So now it is about the number of verses? How many times should God say hole #2 is a no no before it becomes the word of God?

Please name the last misguided fanatic that quit. (Whatever the subject was)

Imagine dmcowan674 with a regular interview slot on CNN or Fox. That's her. The whole world is crazy and she's the only one sho sees it.

If this has anything to do with the Westboro Baptist Church it has NOTHING to do with religion.

and why not? just because it isn't yours shouldn't make it any less valid.

what makes yours, or you concept of "religion," any better?

Are you at all familiar with Westboro Baptist Church? They're no more a church than the KKK. They're just a hate group that calls itself a church.

They claim to be Christians, but they preach the complete opposite of what Christianity teaches - so what religion are they?

Christianity taught the same thing 500 years ago as westboro, just that seperation of state and church put an end to crazy christian ideals.
You don't think gays were stoned to death? Or what about non-christians, or anyone that didn't strictly follow the bible like a mindless sheep?
As Blaise Pascal once said, "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."

Corrupt men taught what they wanted to teach - doesn't mean that Christianity teaches it.

And odd that you quote Blaise Pascal who was a diehard hardcore Christian.

So who are you to decide who's corrupt and who are the "true" christians? Whatever that fits your values is the right one? But then again, you're cherry picking your religion to begin with anyways out of the dozens of religions out there.

LOL... That's not my point.

I'm just thinking with the "success" she's had so far with making her "point" she'd take a different route.

If all she's doing now is pissing people off, how does that help her cause?

Perhaps they need a different spokesperson.

Well I honestly don't think she is looking for mass conversion to her point of view though I don't doubt she has picked up a fair number of supporters. Right now she is just defending her views and "mobilizing the base".

Like anything else the people with her view see her as a hero and those that don't see her as evil. Then you have those on the fence.......................

You're fun to mess with

Not as fun as you and Greyd................

Fine, how about this. I'm hardly a literalist. The cultural bias of any historical document tends to color the message, which can be quite complex in something written over as many years as the Bible...so...it's an exercise in determining what might be cultural and what might be universal. Obviously I'm not going to claim that my ideas are the only right way...but I will say that picking a couple offhand references and saying that they trump dozens of direct and hundreds of indirect references seems to make little sense.

I'm not absolutely confident on all my beliefs (only a fool is IMHO), and I try not to debate the ones I'm not certain on, because it could cause me to defend a stance I may not hold.

That's why I don't go too in-depth on the homosexuality debates...there are certain things I can say with confidence (homosexuals are no better or worse than humanity as a whole...if it's a sin, it's no different than any other), others which I feel are true, but tend to get me flamed (genetics may predispose, but ultimately it's a choice), and a lot of things which I have a nebulous concept of, but lacking further evidence, I'd rather not submit as fact.

Geesh... that old hag looks like one of those "witch burners" religious zealots from the year 1700..!

I could quote everything you said and end it with this, "Hate the Sin, Love the sinner."

Yes, what she is doing is wrong and it is our job to sit her down and show her where she is wrong. She is pulling from a few verses and making them fit her beliefs, in or outside of religion. You know that christians do not think the way she does. Her style is more Islam than any thing else.

In any normal view of christianity, she is wrong and you know it. You are just doing a post count ++++++++++
