They had like five right wingers lined up to bash Ron Reagan before the applause stopped. One said the speech was "disgusting".

One went on to say (paraphrase) "Why is he even up there? He's just the son of Reagan, he doesn't do research, etc."

Umm... you are making fun of him because he is a son of a president? LOL.

G.W. Bush ring a bell? The guy has gotten everything handed to him, "born with a silver foot in his mouth".

What did he get because of his daddies powerful positions and having his daddies name?

1. Yale and Harvard.
2. Jump to the top of a 500 person waiting list for the air national guard, thus avoiding real service.
3. Investment into the dry hole drilling Elbusto.
4. Buy out of Elbusto and figure head position in Harken Energy.
5. After insider trading of Harken stock, he buys into the Rangers, with like 0.5%, they hand him another 10% for free because of his name.
6. Governor of Texas.
7. President of the USA.

The last two were also do in part to the slime ball negative campaigns of Carl Rove.

Does anyone on Earth think G.W. Bush would be anything if he was born to white trash? He'd be flipping burgers if he wasn't aborted. Maybe Fox will think of the irony next time they attack someone who doesn't aggree with the right wing agenda. "Fair and Balanced" my ass.

You mean they were serious? I thought they were doing a parody of themselves!

First time in months that I have watched Fox, and they are almost outrageous with their slant. They apparently think repeating "fair and balanced" has them covered. How much one-sided commentary on issues can you broadcast and still call it news?

I can't watch Fox News anymore. There's enough mindnumbing idiocy with Rush, O'Reilly, etc.

I'm sure the secret GOP-Fox News memos will reveal they were given a set of talking points by Gillespie and told to run through them on the air after RR's speech.

Seen this?

Actually it's about the only News station I watch. The only time they pretend to be fair and balanced is when they say it. Other than that they make no bones about being ultra biased to the Right. When you know what they are about it makes deciphering the Bullsh!t from the truth easier.

The stem cell debate is really part of a larger issue for and that is Bushes non-support for ongoing scientific research in this country .For refrences refer to the document signed by 4000 scientists including 48 nobel prize winners which states this. Ideology before science equals your @ss on the street.

I watch Fox News because I like hearing right-slanted news much more than the left-slanted crap on CNN, though I'm sortof a right-leaning moderate. CNN is defintetely more 'touchy-feely.' The personalities of the news people ALONE show the slant of each network. Fox is more in-your-face.

What is the big deal here? I mean every other country on the planet can research stem cells to their hearts content, and the same can be said for private funding in the US. It's not like the ban is on everybody.

FYI: I'm not well-versed in the stem cell debate, but I am all for no-holds-barred research, and think Bush is misguided (though I am voting for him).

Oh I watch it too because I like to get my news from a variety of sources. FNC is not bad as long as they're just telling you the who/what/where/when/how -- i.e. actual news. It only turns to crap when the talking heads are sitting around telling you what they think. I would imagine it would be hard to "decide for yourself," as one of Fox's mantras would suggest, when they're constantly ramming their pro-GOP propoganda down your throat.

That said, I tend to watch them, CNN and MSNBC in about the same amounts.

I flip between CNN, Fox and NBC...I figure between the three of them I come closer to a "fair and balanced" report than if I only watched one.

Actually I bet they would throw mad cheddar at you if:

1) You could get NMD to work outside of rigged tests.
2) You can design a bunker busting low-yield nuke.
3) You could prove Saddam had something . . . anything . . . anything at all.

Exactly the point - the rest of the world has had a four year head start, possibly turning into an EIGHT year head start, on what has the promise to be the largest medical breakthrough since sanitation. The US economy is largely based on service and exporting pure science. When we can't accomplish that second part...

The thing is Fox isn't right-slanted, they are purely republican. And watching news for the in-your-face attitude is very shallow.

Well I prefer to be shallow to being thick! Speaking of being thick, only a thick headed person would believe that Fox wasn't extremely slanted. With the knowledge that they are ridiculously slanted, watching them can actually be enjoyable at times.

Let me clarify, I don't like people that are purely 'in-your-face,' I agree that isn't the way to deal with people. I just like the way Fox delivers the news much more blunt and to the point. Blitzer, King, Aaron Brown are DULL and have uninteresting personalities. CNN is a snooze fest.

If I'm going to get unadulterated news I tune to Lehrer on PBS. Actually, that is the only hard news source on TV.

So you tune into FOX to be entertained but you go the McNeil/Lehrer for accurate news? Admittedly, I do the same.

Federal funding for stem-cell research has increased under the Bush Admin.
