I'm starting to think about a new PC. I built one with a Q6600 CPU about 7 or 8 years ago, it still runs fine but I'll be getting a bonus around May and I'm thinking about making something new.
I use my pc for office docs, web browsing some multimedia, no gaming at all, and photography with Photoshop and Lightroom.
Even though I'm going to use the cpu (probably an i5) integrated graphics and plain vanilla air cooling I'm probably going with a mid or full sized tower. I have a desk with a built in cubicle for a full sized PC case so I'll stick with a larger case to fill that space and to give me more room to assemble and room to recycle my full height dvd drive.
I'm not ready to put together a complete part list but I'm looking at cases. I really like the Fractal Design Define cases. I like the clean look that hides the drive bays since I rarely use them. I like the power button and USB port on the top edge of the case, this works nicely for the PC cubicle in the desk, everything is accesible and easy to use.
What I'd really like to know is what is the difference between the R4 and R5? The R4 is still available at Newegg for about 2/3 the price of the R5. To me they have the same clean look that I like. Is there any reason to go for the R5 and pay more?
