Framboise Lambic Ale - Raspberry Beer!

I figured there's a decent population of good-beer drinkers on this site so I'd give everyone a head's up. If you haven't tried Framboise Lambic Ale, do it. I tried the Raspberry one the other day and I can't believe how good it is. First off it doesn't look like any other beer I've ever had. It's red. Not like reddish brown. It's red...like a lighter shade of cran-raspberry juice. It's thicker obviously, and a bit opaque. It forms a nice pink head (heh heh heh) that's fun to eat on it's own.

The taste is amazing too, like no other beer I've ever had. It's basically like drinking raspberry juice. I get tired of the taste of beer after one or two, but I could drink this stuff all night long. Also, it's not overly carbonated, and goes down smooth. If you enjoy raspberries, or other berries I highly recommend it. Goes great with the summer if you're looking for something refreshing.

ABV % is debatable. I've seen some that say it's 2.5, other's 4%, and the restaurant where I ordered it said 6. So who knows.

it tastes more like champagne than anything. i'll get it for my gf at the bar and probably have a couple sips too if im not in the mood for a quad. hell its even served in champagne flutes. it is very good tasting though. can't have really more than a few because to me its a little too sweet or something. or maybe the carbonation throws me off

I prefer Liefmans over Lindemanns, but they're all pretty good on a hot summer day or with some desert.

I wasn't sure either, ABV was decent enough, and it was hot out so I figured it was ok.

If you're that insecure, you've already rendered it.

i guess we must disagree... like with pink shirts. the 'men' that secretly love to wear them just claim, 'im confident in my masculinity', but at the end of the day they are still the db in a freaking pink shirt.

man cards are a privilege and should be diligently protected. not going to void mine by ignorance.

This thread is hilarious. A bunch of guys discussing fruity beers and man cards. Oh the irony!

I enjoy a good lambic. Raspberry is my favorite berry, so it's also my favorite lambic. Three Philosophers is also very good. Peach lambic is tasty, but I'm not as wild about the Currant flavored ones.

I consider myself someone who appreciates quality local and home brews, but I am not a fan of the fruity stuff.

Eh, it's a nice dessert beer. I think it's really tasty with devil's food cake or chocolate fondant or something similar. To sit and drink, though, too sweet for me. I enjoy most of the flavors; framboise, kriek, cassis, peche, pomme, etc. They have their place. I like to order them for girls who have never had anything but bud/miller, it seems to give them an idea that there's a lot more to beer that they may actually like.

Once at the Yardhouse, I ordered a beer float with Lindemans Framboise Lambic and vanilla ice cream. It was extremely delicious and a horrible idea. I have had the raspberry and the cherry, I still need to try the blueberry one.

I know lots of chicks who like that beer, I sure as hell wouldn't call it beer though. See Denis Leary for further info.

A real man isn't afraid to be confident in himself...a wannabee pretends to have a mancard because he isn't. Perhaps you get carded so often because too many people around you are 'unconvinced'.

I don't mind one every once in a while, but it's not something I can drink on a regular basis.
