Really? I didn't know that. The ESPN commentators didn't mention it at all!

Zindane was insane. First time I've seen brazil's speed nullified by such good ball control.

Good game, France played very well, but there were a LOT of horrible calls by the ref.

I agree, great game, had brazil gone into attack 5 mintues earlier it probably would have been tied, but they were outplayed 80% of the match. They got so many oppertunities durring the last 5 mintues I was amazed they couldnt put one on target. But I turned it off when Ronaldinho was i nthe 18, got around a player and was called for a foul. Sorry if I missed it in real tiem or the 3 replays but it was a good move. I still have no idea what the call was besides garbage.

But Zidane was fantastic. I have no problem with france winning and an fully aware that there were many bad calls agaisnt france, like Ronaldo falling and drawing a card. But To take away the best oppertunity the may have had all night for a 50/50 challenge where ronaldinho got by the defender is the second worse call of the whole Cup (Next to the Red in the US v. Italy game for the ankle tackle).

Ref heres a , now run along and never call another game.

That guy was amazing. The commentator said that Zidane controls the ball like it's on a string. Perfect description.

Yeah, the last five minutes was FULL of attacks by Brazil. Like you said, had they started their real attack a few minutes early, the outcome likely wouldn't have been the same.

Glad I didn't put any money into this World Cup, or any football matches for that matter.

rather than saying brazil wasn't playing well, i'd say france played one hell of a game, esp for zidane.

No , more like only showing up the last 1/8 of the last world cup game. If Brazil attacked like they did the 75th mintue on for the whole game, this would have been a blow out going the other way. :disgust:

That's the thing though. Brazil couldn't attack. France shut them out, and stopped them cold at almost every turn.

They only mentioned it like 10 times...I was sick of hearing it by the end of the game. I won some money with France winning I bet on the field against Brazil.

FWIW, Brazil did the same to France every time but one.

^^ Yeah I hated to see Brazil lose, but France (Zidane) just out played them. Hopefully they'll take the cup this year.

Brazil was simply outplayed. Zidane, as everyone has mentioned, was just perfect today. And for everyone wondering why Brazil didn't go on an all out offensive spurt like they did in the last 5-10 minutes, counterattacks. When you put that many men down the field like that you open yourself up for an easy counterattack, and France had several of them and nearly scored again.

I think that Brazil just gave France too much space/respect early in the game. France played phenomenally, but I think if Brazil would have come out with some fire in their step and gotten a goal early in the first half the game would have turned out much differently.
