Free ($1) cheap CD Player, after jumping through hoops--dead

Connections123 has a promotional deal where you can get a cheap CD Player for "free". When you sign up for the 30day free membership, you get a membership packet in the mail and you fill out a form for the CDPlayer. You have to call in within 30days to cancel without a charge to your credit card. Be sure you send in your form for the player ASAP so as to get the whole thing completed by the 30 days.

When I did it, it was 60 days. I called today and they said my CD player is on its way. I'll call in tomorrow and cancel the service.

Actually while you are a member you can buy discounted products and such as well. Bonus.

I looked into this awhile back. After they charge your CC $1 it's forever before you get the package containing the card you need for the free player. Once you mail in the card they send you a survey which takes 4-6 weeks to receive. Once they receive back the survey they will send you the CD player, NO THANKS!
By the time you get the CD player they have charged you a full year membership!

You're right sbpd. Sorry for the post, everyone. When I called in to cancel I found out that they basically delay sending you the CD Player until you get to the point of having to pay the yearly membership. In the meantime they pummel you with questions as to why you want to cancel and flog you with reasons why you shouldn't cancel.

These "something free with membership" offers never were nor will ever be a hot deal. Am I the only one that seems to be hit with the clue-by-four?

So far I have never gotten my movie tickets, car, airline tickets, one night vacation in Aruba, crap quality CD player, and Bonzai Buddy.

Whoo hoo don't you just like a bargain...

Why do people post these things?
