Allstate Insurance is offering a free $10 Toys R Us giftcard in Sunday's paper. The ad asks you to call an 800 number (866-405-1282) where they ask you if you'd like an insurance quote. Tell them no, and they'll put you thru to a recording telling you to send a 3x5 card with your name and address to the address below. Here's the disclaimer:

"One card per household. Neither a purchase or a quote is nessecary to receive a giftcard. Offer good through 12/24/03 while supplies last.Offer applies only to residents of Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas."

So it's limited area, but still looks hot from here just for sending your name and addy (no detailed or personal info-- I'm going to send it in in my kid's name on a 3x5 card to:

Allstate Toys R Us Promotion
PO Box 811
Itasca, Il 60143

Enjoy!

Thanks!

Yep, it goes to Illinois for fulfilment. Or, capital 'i', lowercase 'L'.

Well, first of all, I think you'd have to supply your number. And even if you assume they'll go through the trouble to find it, what's to find if you use your child's name? There are no age restrictions on this according to the ad. So, I'm not too worried about that part of it.

I guess so, but my main point is that it probably invalidates the nation-wide "Do not call" list. And Insurance companies sure do like to telemarket.
