I signed up for this in Oct'05 and my first purchase during the same month.
I have not received my $100 credit until March'06, which is way longer that what
the offer stated. It also took at least 4 phone calls (spread over a month) to get
Sony to pay ... so be prepared ...

My reward from the earlier promotion was credited 3 days after my 1st set of purchases on the same day (gas, haircut, grocery). $100 credit on my account, no questions asked.

No, the purchase just has to be made with the Sony Credit Card... i jumped on this back in Oct and got my free 100 within the month. It came in handy for the computer I was building, basically a free upgrade

14.74% variable. ugh, terrible rate after the first year. make sure you cancel before the year is up.

Alternatively, just make sure you don't carry a balance after the first year.

Seems like a good deal. I'll give it a shot. So you just spend up to $100 and they credit you $100?

IIRC, spend a penny and get $100 credit. People on other forums report negative balances after their first purchase.

I'm in for 1. buy one cheap cd, wait for credit, spend the rest elsewhere, close out the acct after a suitable interval. what an excellent opportunity to get even with Sony for the rootkit nightmare. I'll always be looking for ways to cost them. May they roast in hell forever.....

If you want to get even with Sony, keep the card for a year since it has a 0% APR, and then cancel it.

" Card credit will be applied to your Sony Card account 8-12 weeks after your first purchase. Offer expires December 31, 2006. First purchase must be made by March 31, 2007. In some instances an application may require additional processing, in which case Instant Credit will be unavailable. "

It does not really matter how long you leave it open. With your credit score I dount you would notice any difference
