Thanks for the good find: I've just got the last MV720 from Boulder, CO, store. It happen to be a display item, so, the manager (happened to be a really nice guy) reduced the price to $75.
I've submitted the SN, and Compaq accepted it--I've got a confirmation e-mail already!
That's one hot deal, like in good ol' days of ValueAmerica.

I was wondering about the 19&quot; proview's, I went into my local Office max and they were still 299, how did you get yours for 130, is that a price drop only at your store or will all OM's eventually drop to 130. And if they do all drop to 130, do you have any idea when?

Got me one to go with the HP 17&quot; I grabbed last weekend. Only $50 rebate with that one so not free = $45.40. The Compaq ends up for $6. Funny thing though, the store where I got the HP and had thought I had tipped them off (apparently the cashier didn't remember or care about any monitors that were going on clearance), had at least 1 HP and 2 Compaqs left. They just put them on the floor and I grabbed one. Now I can look at both and decide which I like better for my system.

Just picked my MV720 up yesterday from one of my local omax... it was the floor model with no box and had no speakers with it (damn), but I did call Compaq and they said I can still get the rebate as long as on the reciept the manager writes that the monitor was floor model w/ no box. Thanks for the tip...

Checked several stores in the NJ/NY area, all are out...noooooo...

Too bad the rebate doesn't apply to refurbed monitors, managed to find a place selling one for $136, would have been decent. Ah well. C'est la vie.

If your OS doesn't have the exact model drivers for it and just uses &quot;plug and play&quot; driver, you can get the drivers on CD free from Compaq. I just sent in for the disk, no cost or shipping $.

I got in on the 19&quot; MV920 for $250 deal from Mercata a while back and I still haven't received my $100 rebate. It's been >almost< 8 weeks since I sent it in, so I'll probably call them sometime this week to find out what's up.

The Compaq MV and FS series are eligible for rebate. OM prices on the MV's are

19&quot; $130 - $100 = $30
17&quot; $100 - $100 = $0
15&quot; $75 - $100 = they pay ya $25

The OM clearance prices on these are pretty fscking good even before the rebate.

I wanted two 19&quot; for dual heads, but all the store had left was a single 15&quot; MV520 display model. They wouldn't go below $75, and to be honest I didn't really try that hard...maybe if they didn't succesfully track down the original box I would have been tougher.

My opinions on this monitor? 1024x768 @ 60Hz is unbearable. 800x600 @ 85 looks nice, has a good picture. I would hope that the 17&quot; &amp; 19&quot; would have higher refresh at higher resolutions. Definately not what I would spend money on for a primary display, but can't miss it at this price. Perfect for bundling with a used system. (I think I'll keep my ancient 15&quot; trinitron and get rid of this first...I first planned to do the opposite)

Correct me if I'm wrong (please!) but it does not appear to be a limit to the number of monitor rebates you can submit. The Terms and Conditions state &quot;One rebate per qualifying purchase&quot;. Very rare but very cool. I think I need to scope some more stores Maybe I can find a few 19&quot; after all.

There is a limit of 1 per address/person blah blah. Saw that when I did the online rebate.

The 17&quot; has 1152 x 864 @ 75hz flicker free, and 1280 x 1024 60hz (blows).
1024 x 768 and less are up to 85hz.

Looks good to me but I only had a CTX 14&quot; and a HP 15&quot; to look at before.

Oddest thing just happened. I was able to get the display, $75 <10%, and I just qualified my rebate online and it says $100 for the 520. Now I am just wondering if they will screw me out of the rebate completely, as it is going to Arizona, and this company, Continental Promotions, are the WORST!!!!!

I know of some stores that have the compaq M720 in stock but they are not in my area and I will give you that info for the HP locations.
