Does anyone know if this sign up is a lot of hassle like HSBC?

Either way I guess it's still good...free $25 and the rate is just as good as HSBC's.

It also said:

Fees:

* $15 will be assessed per each Bank check request. One Bank check request may be requested per month.

So maybe you could make a $10 profit?? Correct me if I am wrong...

I guess you don't need to request a bank check right... it only says you can request one per month...

Anyway, Thanks OP. In for 1

The domestic wire charge ($25) is not the same as their free 'Quick Transfer'. The Quick Transfer part includes sending/receiving money from your other checking/savings accounts with other institutions.

Nice. I was a little confused on that part myself after reading the fees section.

I'm in for this. I can always use another savings account.

I've found eTrade's customer service to be pretty good. They have decent rates on short-term CD's too. Savings accts have to have a high balance to earn good rates, though.

go threadcrap elsewhere. Obviously the OP finding this deal made some people happy.

To OP:

it would be a deal if people actually had an intention of staying with e*trade. Otherwise, it is just scamming scheme... which is exactly how the OP presents this. Anyway, w/e i'm sure some people will actually use this the way it is intended.
