I'm an electronic design engineer. Most of the products I design are for pro audio applications. I also venture into other product fields (see my sig). Analog Devices makes great products for the purpose, so this is a great deal for guys like me.

As a long time veteran of AT, I must also post this request -- I don't care if you're a product designer like me or a student hobbiest with some strange idea you're dying to prove out, but...

PLEASE do not apply for these samples unless you intend to use them and have some idea of what to do with them.

If the AnandTech Effect forces good companies like Analog Devices to restrict their sampling policies, you will be doing a great disservice to real design engineers, adventuring hobbiests, and yourself because it will make it that much more expensive to develop great new product ideas. If all you end up with is a fist full of IC's that do nothing but take up space in a drawer or jar, please forget it.

Actually, one or two of almost any IC of this type isn't worth the time to try to sell it, but that attitude is why the rest of AT calls HD'ers Ferenghi. :disgust:

BTW, if you order this kit, some of the amps you'll probably get wont be good for audio, at all. Depending on the specs of the various models, they may be optimized for a lot of other applications.

I have to second Harvey's sentiments. If you don't have a use for it, don't screw up an honest opportunity for people that do. Aside from Ferenghi like chynkboi, I don't think many people would have a use for these. To those that do imagine costly ICs to bring resale value, I say guess again. From a quick look at that site and sample pages such as this one, http://products.analog.com/products/info.asp?product=AD8021,
I'm guessing you'll be receiving 30 surface mount ICs that have a retail cost starting about one buck and change. Do you actually think any one that needs one of these pieces would pay you for a used sample just to save a some change?
I happen to be an Electrical Engineer and even if I had a use for these, I wouldn't bother. Any hobbiest that's tried to hand solder surface mount chips can tell you it's not for the faint of heart.
