Don't waste your time. I'm submitted tons of these to IBM legitimately thru my business and never rec'd a single item (from USB pen drives to t-shirts). All they do spam me via snail-mail and call me on the phone....BAH! :|

According to your profile you're in the US - go here and register your phone #. If they continue to call after being asked not to, report them & get them fined.

A hopeful sign is a search for IBM memory key.

However, I'm still not sure where the OP found out it was a 32mb one. Would somebody be willing to point such a thing out to me?

IBM will soon ran out of 32 meg memory keys and start sending out 64 meg ones instead, and shortly after they will have to give out 128 meg ones... and so on. As it seems I am the last one who jumped on the wagon, I would probably receive my 512 meg memory key... Thank you IBM!

Already registered for other free stuff, and they actually remembered my account! I've had good luck w/ IBM sending me free things...thermos, office thingies. Here's hoping.

I got this. The dang thing is 2MB - that's right, 2MB. This is barely bigger than a floppy disk! I'm still holding out hope that if I erase and format it might be larger. On the plus side, in addition to being free, it includes a short 3 foot USB extension cable. These are always handy. It also includes a nice little cable for hanging around your neck, not that you are going to waste this on a puny 2MB drive.

The drive comes "pre-loaded" with some stuff about IBM Tivoli, whatever the heck that is.

I just tried and I can't seem to format the key drive. It seems to think it is actually a CD disk, and thus not eraseable. It does have an unlock/lock switch, but that doesn't seem to help with formatting or erasing. Oh well, the USB extension cable will get use. I'm not going to argue with "free."

Ok, I received mine yesterday & you're right it seems as though that there is only 2MB available.

I was able to do a format through Disk Management & get 25.4MB of the key~drive unlocked & useable. I can not however get rid of the IBM advertising files which are the 2MB of space that is showing up when you first look at the drive on your PC.

There is 25MB of free space though if you go through the disk management prog & format it under remove able storage.

I'm familiar with Disk Management in Windows XP, but when I go there and view the drive, it won't let me do anything with the drive. The partition and format commands are not available on this drive, which is listed as a CD-ROM with the CDFS file system.
