I just noticed that Compusa is selling Memorex 32Meg Compact Flash or Smart Media for FREE after a $5 Instant Savings and $20 MIR.

They are stating a limit of 20 of each per store so act fast.

ha ha ha, I got the smart media thing. They had to make a price change on their system because it have no$5 instance, so the guy did it right there.

Now all I need is a 32cent stample and envelope to mail it in. *hehhe*

Who cares if it's mms. It's still good price. I'll give it to mom for her new Digi cam.

Not sure, but I believe you may wish to put more than a 32 cent stamp on the rebate when mailing. The USPS may not take it very far.

Rebates are evil. I think the rebates people are in bed with the USPS.

I sent out a rebate for a $100 one time. Sent it via certified mail too to make sure and still the USPS lost it (it didn't even make it out of my local post office when they traced it!!!). Good thing I had copies but that was a big pain.

Did you guys get the rebate form in the store? The one in downtown SF didn't have any forms in the store and the manager told me to get it online. Unfortunately, it's not listed online and I've just been getting the runaround on the phone. Frustrates me to no end.

Same in Texas. No rebate forms at the store. Manager said he was calling the website help
line and they would be up by Monday. Wrong again. Should have known there would be a problem
when the computer price didn't match the ad price.

Got the runaround on the 800-number this morning and wasted one hour.

Just talked to somebody at the local store over the phone and they said that rebate form should have printed at the time of purchase. And yes, computer price didn't match the ad price (didn't deduct the $5 instant rebate automatically) when I was checking out. Then they told me that they could not print the rebate out due to its limited nature even though I was second in the checkout line on Sunday morning with the CF card and that what I could do is come in and return the CF card. I didn't wait in line in front of the store Sunday morning to get screwed like this. I promptly told them that that was a load of #$!@.

After talking to them further, it looks like their system was down yesterday morning and they said they printed out extra rebate forms for the memory card. I told them to mail it to me. Hopefully they won't screw this one up or else I'll have to go into the store and start knocking some heads around.

You are already screwed and just don't know it yet. The cashier was suppoed to have you fill out a CompUSA rebate program eligibility certificate. Both you and your store manager are required to sign it and you then submit it along with your rebate form. If you did not get the form you are SOL because it clearly states on the certificate...

THIS PRODUCT CERTIFICATE MUST BE INCLUDED WITH YOUR REBATE SUBMISSION IN ORDER TO RECEIVE YOUR MAIL-IN REBATE

Hmmm, I bought Pinnacle Hollywood FX Plus at CompUSAand the rebate form printed at the register. I remember glancing at the circular pinned next to the board with all the rebates as I was walking out and seeing "POS" (Point of Sale) stickers next to a bunch of the FAR items, I am pretty sure the Smart Media card was one of them.

Sounds like you guys are right. The lady I was talking to said they couldn't print out the rebate file that got emailed to them after yesterday's fiasco. Then she tried opening it again and it opened correctly - but I think I'll be screwed if I try sending in the rebate submission without the "eligibility certificate". Then she told me she could give me a gift card instead. I think it's all a bunch of crap and I'm screwed. I'm going to go to the store and talk to these idiots face to face and get it sorted out.
