I got to my local CompUSA about 20 minutes after they opened. A number of employees told me that the RAM was ALL GONE, except for the "notebook memory." Then I was told I could order it, pick it up another day, and get a receipt with the right date for the rebate. So I get on the "corporate order" line, and after 20 minutes speaking with the rep (who also told me they're out of it), another employee comes out screaming, telling her that there are EIGHT FULL CASES of this RAM in their "warehouse" (that's the back room )...5 minutes later, they bring out a whole box worth.
Then I'm told it's only 1 per customer (not 2 as shown in the ad)...so I got one and my mother got one (PC133, SKU #280956)...it rings up $49.99 instead of $29.99. Manager goes in and changes the price in the computer. I spent over an hour in that store just for the 2 RAM and 2 Epson Photo Paper (out of stock, but I ordered it, free after rebate).
Doubled my memory from 128MB to 256MB for free. I installed this PC133 memory in my Dell Dimension XPS-T700 which supposedly "only" takes "100 MHz" memory, but it seems to be working fine.
