I realize that there are more than one type of memory for those laptops, but do you know which HP and Sony machines can use the SKU 271906 that is being offered? I'm looking for a friend or two who have different machines. TIA

I just bought a couple of those 64mb pc133 sdram modules, they were PNY "Platinum Memory PC-133".

Chips on the modules I got are "Infineon HYB 39S64800CT-7.5" (cas 3-3-3 according to the Infineon site). Probably varies at different stores though.

"Kingston Rebate" An oxymoron if I've ever heard one.

I hate Kingston rebates, you CAN NOT count on them. You have a 50/50 chance at best. IMO

Is it too risky if I go and buy it right now....then go back monday or sunday and return it and then buy it again for the sunday/monday price??

Will they let you do this?

Of course PC133 is compatible with your motherboard that only supports PC100. That just means your memory won't run at PC133.

Just want to my local CompUsa and they only had 6 in stock and won't be getting anymore. I was just kidding with the sales rep. and asked him if he thought prices would go lower on memory. Had him hold two of them for me on Sunday. Sku#271005 for those who couldn't make it out on the idealwiz

On another note, they had stacks and stacks on the TDK 25 pack cdrs in stock. These are the ones made in Taiwan though. Sku#280832. I don't know what picture they used in the ad though cause it looks nothing like what the actual package. (a lot smaller and blue package)

Outlaw Wolf- Good for overclocking? Probably not, but what more can you ask for when its free?

Guys, do you want me to post anything else in the first post? I haven't really checked up on it.

Where's the risk? They don't do the deal for you you just return the stuff. All you risk is your time.

I went and picked up a couple of sticks, didn't look like they had too many.

I also picked up a Antec ks282 case. I've heard these will go on close out sale tomorrrow for $30. I'll try PM it also. Same deal, if it don't work, just return it.

Hey punkie,

I thought about buying a couple today but the rebate is for Sunday-Monday. How are you going to get around that if they don't have anymore on Sunday. If you know of a way, can you email me a copy.

That's funny, I saw two guys buy 6 of these cases. I just thought they were building some pc's or something. Might have to go get me one too and maybe get the memory early

Allu:

I plan on walking in with the receipts and asking them to honor their price drop poliicy. What I do is ask to return the product, and then repurchase it at the sale price. This way you receive a receipt with the correct date for the rebate. If they have a problem with me just having the receipts, I'll go to my car and bring in the actual products. I've done this before and have never had a problem.

I'm certain it will go well, but if it doesn't I'm always ready to raise hell and take the matter up the ladder.

Awhile back the CrapUSA rebate center claims to have not received my rebate submission. I went to the store GM and demanded that he make good on it. I came prepared with copies of everything and the name of the district manager. It took some threats but he finally threw $20 at me just to ge tme outta his face.

I'm sure he thought I was some cheap lowlife sob, and he was correct.

I'm a newbie, so don't flame me if I say something wrong. Punkie and alluu, just a reminder, compusa has a 15% restocking fees on returns.

Thanks for pointing that out Jacky. Again I've done this a couple of time so far without any problems.

But you bring up a good point so I just called my local Compusa and asked them what their policy was. The CSR told me that they would PM the sale price and issue a new receipt with the proper date for rebate purposes. Of course if there's no rebate involved all you would need would be a credit for the PM difference.

Never hurts to check.

I went to CompUSA today and bought two 64MB sticks (the rebate is max. of two per household). The memory is Infineon 7.5ns CL2 -- not bad for the price of sales tax. The marking on the chips is HYB39S128160CT-7.5. I'll ask them for a pricematch on Sunday. There were only a few sticks left in our store, so you may want to buy a couple, shouldn't be a problem to get the lower price on Sunday.

Hyundai memory ??? And in the ad, it shows CompUSA brand memory, not PNY. ?
