1. I went to Comp tonight and picked up two sticks of the PC133. It is PNY, has -7.5 Infineon chips on it and is in a CompUSA package.
2. The 64MB 144 Pin SODIMM (notebook memory) has -8 Infineon chips on it (PC100), and is in a PNY Package. (my friend got those)
3. The rebate coupon DOES say 1 per household, etc. The ad DOES say limit 2. I figure I will argue with them about this tomorrow (but not too hard), and simply return one of the two chips as necessary.
Other potentially useful information:
Store: Troy, Michigan
The TDK 25 pack CD-Rs and the 10MBPS NICs were not to be found ANYWHERE in the store. Either the 15 they have for tomorrow's sale were in the back room, or the store just didn't have any. Looked like they had about 100 of the PC133 64MB Dimms that are free with rebate tomorrow, all stacked up behind the counter. The CSR said that he thought they might last as long as 1 or 2 PM on Sunday. Quanties looked MUCH more limited on the notebook memory, and the PC100 (although I don't know why anyone would WANT the PC100 anyway). I talked to a nice CSR who told me that he has the free Kensington camera at home, and that it sucks (disco effect, light to dark with white spots, etc). For what it is worth, I believe him. He recommended a better camera, but I just thanked him for the advice, and didn't buy one. Looked like there were about 12 of the sound cards left, and 20 of the modems (after I bought mine in advance).
Good hunting,
Nack
