any new news about this? Anyone in here get on the waiting list at the Monrovia Compusa? When will they be expecting a shipment??? What happens if we get the ram and we dont have enough time to send in the rebate? thx

As usual, I was procrastinating again, so when I finally went to Compusa...the ram were all sold out. They allowed me to prepay for the rams and would be informed as soon as they have it in stock...hopefully I'll get it before the expiration of the rebate.:frown:

I preordered the RAM at Monrovia Compusa too. They still haven't called me yet.

For those of you purchased the ram BEFORE the two-days sale, check your UPC code of the ram.
The one I got BEFORE the sale has UPC code 751492196015
The one I got DURING the sale has UPC code 751492206332
I doubt they will honor the rebate for that ......

Check the SKU number against those listed on the rebate form. There are two SKUs for each of the PC 100 and the PC133 (ie. 4 SKUs). CompUSA had already planned the substitutes ahead of time.

BTW, for those emphatically stating that it does not require an original rebate form, you might wanna read a little more closely.

In the required list, it states "This rebate form". Nothing definitive either way about that statement ... but I'd sure use an original to be safe.

I just called the rebate center, and was told that they cannot verify the first UPC code. And they suggested me to exchange it with CompUSA to get the one with correct UPC code ..... well ... dunno what to do now

I'm going by SKU #. The sku on my receipt matches that on the rebate form (271005). And as far as I'm concerned, I am due a rebate. If I get rejected, I'll take it up with the store at that time. I'm not going to worry about it.
However, I did just notice that the rebate form states that "Incomplete rebate coupons, eg, ... unsigned will be denied". I signed mine under the line for the email address.
I'm returning my sound card tomorrow - sounds like those guys are a hassle to deal with for the rebate.

The questions is how can you proof that SKU 271005 has UPC code 751492196015 or 751492206332
They might just tell you that you have sent a wrong UPC code to them. What can you do?

I got my RAM the day before the sale and the UPC code is 751492196015 as well...should I be worried right about now?

stso, if there's a problem, I expect them to follow thru on their end in good faith.
I mean, how am I, as a consumer, supposed to know which UPC # it has or which, if only one is right? Or that there are 2? I bought the item that had the same sku as on the rebate form and submitted it. What more can I do? What more am I expected to do? nothing, IMO.

Also they probably have 2 UPCs bc they have 2 diff chips in there. Some of the sticks are Hyundai and some are Samsung. So that's probably got something to do with the UPCs. Even though they are the same product, the UPC differentiates between the source of the 'ingredients'. (Just a guess..)

As I said before, if they reject it, I'll take it up with the store. Considering I've already cut the UPC off the package, there's nothing for me to do - besides, I personally think this is a non-issue...

wow this ram is doing 146 mhz with all settings up on a kt7 raid right now. I believe it can go further, but my duron is a bit cranky past 935 mhz

er...still no news for us Monrovia folks. It's silly how you cannot talk to a CSR from the Monrovia store. You can only call their headquarters for pricing and availability. Do you think we can just demand to get the ram for $.01 if the rebate expires by then?

I prepaid for these rams last weekend and I still haven't receive any call from them. They told me that they will have new shipment arriving soon and will be informed accordingly.:frown:

Anyone knows the expiration for the rebate? I hope, I'm not late for this.

This might be a silly question but on the rebate for it said if it is not signed you will not get the rebate. But there is no place to sign on the form. Do you just sign anywhere or is just a typo. This is my first rebate form I have filled out so please don't be to harsh. never mind I just did a little more reading and found my answer.

Yeah, I saw the signature requirement too. I just signed and dated it below the email address line. It doesn't hurt and they can't get you for not following their directions. Sometimes I think they do this kind of stuff to reject your rebate. If not, they do it cause they're stupid.

If you don't get your rebate and you call the number on the rebate form and still can't work it out with them, go to your CompUSA store or call the CompUSA corporate rebate office at (write this number down) 800-278-4685. They have always come through with CompUSA sponsored rebates for me even when the original company would not. They have helped me keep my %100 rebate receipt record. Don't forget to make a copy of everything cause they will want it.

i had this same problem back with the iomegas. i called and they told me to press 0 and it would connect me to the actual store i wanted. worked like a charm (btw, i had to hold for awhile).

Wow, CompUSA has TERRIBLE customer's service. I am downright outraged. Apparently, those of you who purchashed your ram at Monrovia, they are giving out 64mb ram with the WRONG SKU#'s now that are NOT eligible for the rebate. (#290471). I purchased on the 19th and was put on the waiting list because they had no stock for anyone. So, I was finally called today to pick up my ram. After getting home, I called the PNY rebate center and they told me that this was DEFINITELY not eligible for the current promotion. Thus, I called the monrovia store and told them about it. Apparently, they are aware of this issue but do not intend to do anything about it. I even asked them if I could just give them the UPC codes off of my box and if they could give me store credit. Of course...they rejected my request, telling me that rebates must go through the proper process before anything can happen. Thus, they are telling me to basically mail in my rebate, WHICH WILL GET REJECTED, and bring in the rejection letter and call their corporate offices about the rebate and THEN, maybe I will get a compensation from the store. What kinda service is this? I just wasted an hour of my life on the phone with CompUSA cuz they kept on putting me on hold and then hanging me up. I had to call about 4 times. What should I do now guys? I want some justice.
