I'll find out how good CompUSA service is tomorrow, when I try to exchange 2 of the
64MB DIMMs - one had 3 pins shorted together with solder, and apparently it damaged the other.
I preordered mine (pc 133)on the 19th and just picked them up this afternoon (Monrovia, CA).
They have sku#280956 and upc#751492206332 on the boxes. However, on my sale receipt, the sku# is 271005.
Same here Hankysmoo. I preordered the 271005 but they gave me the 290471. However, the compusa tag said 271005 on it. It is 64mb, syn dimm, 133. White labe said 80YHS W. O. 23134. Hope I have some answers tomorrow.
well, i sent in my rebates today, two in the same envelope. hope it comes. if not, i'll bitch at compusa corporate. still 128 megs for $30, hard to beat anyway.
I picked up my two sticks at Monrovia on 3/2. The CSR said that PNY would honor the rebate on the SKU 290471 if I included the CompUSA stick-on label for 271005, that "they had been informed." I included a cover letter stating all that had been promised -- two rebates in one envelope, and substitute SKU's -- We'll see!
Mine (8 Infineon PC133 chips) wouldn't work in my VA-503+ mobo @ 100 MHz unless the BIOS was set to CAS2. I've been to CompUSA twice since the sale, and every time I saw someone in line waiting to return some PNY DIMMs.
Yeah, the Monrovia store seems to be afraid of their telephones. I called 5 times in one day in one hour intervals, and no one picked up. I think too many people are quitting over there.
I finally got my 2 sticks fm the Woodland Hills store...been calling them for the past week and nobody wants to answer their d@#n phone...pls leave a message and will get back to you.:|Nobody did...I just assumed that their shipment should have arrived by now so I went there this afternoon and got it finally.
Got an email this week saying "We are happy to inform you that your rebate submission for 64 MB PC100, PC133, PC100 NOTEBOOK, PC133-CUSA,PC100 PNY has been received. You can review the status of your rebate any time at http://www.rebateshq.com. For better customer service support, your
rebate tracking number is" xxxxxxx.
When I track the rebate it says expected date for mailing of rebate is 04/03.
Qucik note. They take really long to post the rebate. I mailed mine the day after I got the memory and I just received an email last week. I haven't received confirmation for the other two mailed in yet (all postmarked on the last possible day). Calling them won't hurt though.
