Any fuel burns pretty quick when its unconfined. Put kerosene in a quart jar, set it on fire and time how long it takes to burn out. Then pour the same volume of kerosene across the ground, set it on fire, and compare how long it takes to burn out.Why were fire trucks able to put out thousands of gallons of jet fuel in "about an hour"?
