Just ran down to get it... like 6 more packs left in the Westwood, CA store.

The price in the ad is wrong... The $39.99 is the correct price, because in store, right above the memory sticks was a shelf tag $39.99 - $40 Rebate = $ -.01. Got my rebates printed out too...

The 256PC133ONLY is on sale... This is HIGH density, single sided SDRAM, NOT backward compatible with PC100. The other double sided one isn't on sale.

Also note! There's 2 different chips! One is Micron and the other is VT chips. I got the Micron one with the "MT" marking on the chips. The number on the chip is 48LC32M8A2 -75 C. So it looks like it's 7.5ns = CL3... Oh well, not too bad for free stuff.

Mine is single-sided but with Hynix chips (part# HY57V56820BT-H). Looks like it's CL3, which is fine for the Celeron system I'm using it in.

I also dug out another FAR stick of Centon PC133 that I picked up in November, and it's got Mosel CL2 chips (part# V54C3256804VBT7PC).

I got the VT chips on mine also. Works like a charm on my 815e chipset motherboard, 133 mhz.

On the rebate form, there's a line for Serial # - do we just leave that blank?

Only Intel 815 830 840 845 listed as the compatible popular Intel chipsets compatible on the packaging. You'll have to check with the BX motherboard manufacturer to see if the board supports it.

hmm...just went to cc.com, plugged in MEI 256PC133ONLY, results show $39.99, refreshed page, still shows $39.99. Picked mine up this afternoon - my price was $39.99. If they changed it, I'm not seeing it.

$49.99 shows online for me too (and also not available for online purchase). Might be a cookie thing?

I'll stop by on the way home anyways, I've got one near me. A free stick would be nice for the home theater PC I'm putting together.

No it will not work on any BX chipset.

It is 810e or newer chipsets only, no LX or BX.

And not even i810e since it has the same limitation as the i440BX. BX and 810e support a max density of 128Mbit DRAM. This is a 256Mbit DRAM part, which means i815 or later only.

The one I picked up at CC B&M has Hynix chips.
