Electronic Communications
1. Consent to Receive Records Electronically.
When you sign up for any program offered by MasterCard Cardholder Solutions, Inc. ("MCS," "we" or "us"), you consent to receive any privacy or other notices, agreements, disclosures, reports, documents, communications, or other records (whether or not related to the program you signed up for) from MCS electronically. You consent to receive such records electronically in either or both of the following ways:
A. We may post the record on the MCS web site
www.mastercard.com/general/privacy.html or the web site for the specific MCS program you signed up for.
B. We may transmit the record to you by email.
All records provided to you electronically will be deemed to be "in writing."
If you do not wish to receive records from MCS electronically, you will not be permitted to sign up for a MCS program.
2. Paper Copies of Records.
MCS reserves the right to provide records in paper format at any time. You agree, however, that MCS is not required to provide you with records in paper format. If you want to retain a paper copy of any records provided electronically, you should print a copy from your computer.
3. Withdrawal of Consent to Receive Records Electronically.
If you have signed up for one of our programs, but decide that you no longer wish to receive records from MCS electronically, you must withdraw from the applicable MCS programs you have joined. To inform us of your choice to stop receiving records electronically and withdraw from a program, visit
www.mastercard.com/withdrawal. There is no fee for withdrawing from a MCS program unless otherwise stated in the agreement applicable to that program.
4. Hardware and Software Requirements.
In order to receive records electronically from MCS, you must have:
An Internet browser, such as Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater or Netscape Navigator 4.0 or greater;
An email account and email software;
A personal computer, operating system and telecommunications connections to the Internet capable of supporting the foregoing;
Sufficient electronic storage capacity on your computer's hard drive or other data storage unit; and
A printer that is capable of printing from your browser and email software.
5. Contact Information.

6. Federal Law.
You acknowledge and agree that your consent to receive records electronically is being provided in connection with a transaction affecting interstate commerce that is subject to the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act, and that we both intend that the Act apply to the fullest extent possible to validate our ability to conduct business with you by electronic means.

MasterCard Cardholder Solutions, Inc. ("MCS," "we" or "us") recognizes the importance of respecting the privacy of those who visit this web site and choose to take advantage of the programs offered by us. We have established this privacy policy to provide an overview of how we handle personally identifiable financial information ("Personal Information") we collect in connection with programs offered by us. This privacy policy covers our disclosures of Personal Information among companies in the MasterCard corporate family (our "affiliates") and to other companies (referred to as "nonaffiliated third parties"). Please note, however, that some of the programs we offer also may have additional privacy provisions regarding how we handle Personal Information we collect in connection with those programs. Before you sign up for a particular program, please carefully review any specific additional privacy policy provisions applicable to that program. Links to any additional privacy provisions for those programs are found at the end of this notice.
A. What Personal Information about you does MCS collect?
You should be aware that we may collect Personal Information about you from the following sources:
Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, including those you fill out electronically;
Information about your transactions and experiences with us, our affiliates, and/or others;
Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies (e.g., credit bureaus and other risk reporting services);
Information we receive online, such as from cookies (see section H below for more information about cookies) or other technology that may be used to, among other things, remember passwords for you, help us track your web site usage, or provide you with customized content;
Other information about you may be collected depending on the MCS programs you sign up for -- make sure you review the specific privacy policy applicable to each program you are interested in; and
Information we obtain from others.
B. How does MCS disclose Personal Information?
1. Information we disclose to the financial institution that issued your MasterCard card(s).
When you sign up for one of our programs, you consent that we may disclose all of the Personal Information we collect, as described in section A above, to the financial institution that issued your MasterCard card(s). The privacy policy of the financial institution that issued your MasterCard card(s) will govern how that financial institution handles such Personal Information. You should check the privacy policy of the financial institution that issued your MasterCard card(s) to determine how your information will be handled by that financial institution.
2. Information we disclose to service providers or joint marketers.
We may disclose all of the Personal Information we collect, as described in section A above, to companies (including our affiliates) that perform marketing and other services on our behalf and to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.
3. Information we disclose to affiliates
Our affiliates include financial service providers such as payment systems. In addition to the Personal Information that we disclose to affiliates that provide services to us, we may disclose all of the Personal Information we collect, as described in section A above, among affiliates for other purposes. For example, we disclose among our affiliates:
Personal Information we receive from you and other sources, such as address, telephone number, email address, social security number, date of birth, and mother's maiden name; and
Personal Information about your transactions with us, or our affiliates, such as your account usage.
There are other types of Personal Information we disclose among our affiliates unless you tell us not to. We refer to this Personal Information as "Creditworthiness Information." Creditworthiness Information consists of the following types of Personal Information to the extent it is used to determine your eligibility for credit: (i) Personal Information from your application (e.g., your income) or from nonaffiliated third parties; and (ii) Personal Information obtained from consumer reporting agencies, such as your credit score or credit history.
You have the choice to be excluded from our disclosing of Creditworthiness Information to our affiliates. See section C below for details.
We also may disclose Personal Information about you to our affiliates as permitted by law.
4. Information we disclose to nonaffiliated third parties.
We may also disclose information to third parties, which do not belong to our corporate family. These nonaffiliated third parties include:
Financial services providers, such as consumer lenders, and mortgage and insurance companies;
Nonfinancial companies, such as direct marketers, retailers, and publishers; and
Others, such as nonprofit organizations.
We may disclose all of the Personal Information we collect, as described in section A above, to nonaffiliated third parties.
You have the choice to be excluded from our disclosing of Personal Information to nonaffiliated third parties. See section D below for details.
We may also disclose Personal Information about you to nonaffiliated third parties as permitted by law.
C. How to tell us not to disclose Creditworthiness Information to our affiliates.
If you prefer that we not disclose Creditworthiness Information to our affiliates, you may direct us not to disclose this information by sending an email from the email address you used to register with us to the following email address:

Note: Your direction in this section covers only the Creditworthiness Information. We may disclose other information about you to our affiliates as permitted by law.
D. How to tell us not to disclose information to nonaffiliated third parties.
If you prefer that we not disclose Personal Information about you to nonaffiliated third parties, you may opt out of those disclosures, that is, you may direct us not to make those disclosures (other than disclosures described in sections B.1 or B.2 or as otherwise permitted by law). If you wish to opt out of disclosures to nonaffiliated third parties, you may send an email from the email address you used to register with us to the following email address:

E. Important additional notes.
If you have a joint account, an opt out request submitted under section C or D by one party will apply to all parties on the account.
Please note that after your opt out request is processed, you may still be contacted by our affiliates and/or other companies based on their own information, information they obtained from us before your opt out was processed, or information they obtained from other sources.
In addition to the disclosure of Personal Information described in this policy, we also use your Personal Information internally for a variety of purposes. For example, we use Personal Information about you to send you emails and other communications about offers and discounts we believe will be of interest to you.
F. Keeping Personal Information secure.
We believe that keeping financial information secure is one of our most significant responsibilities. We restrict access to Personal Information about you to those employees and others who need to know that information to assist us in our business or to provide products or services to you. We safeguard Personal Information according to established security standards and procedures, by maintaining physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations.
G. Use of anonymous information.
We also may use information, such as your shopping preferences, to create an anonymous profile, which we may market to third parties. This anonymous profile does not include your identity. We do not provide you the opportunity to opt out of information uses or disclosures that do not include your identity.
H. Cookies.
We make use of "cookies" on this site. Cookies are small files that are stored on a user's computer by the web server through the user's browser. The actual contents of the cookie information can be retrieved by the same web server to identify the computer and subsequently to customize, monitor, or regulate the use of the site based on information stored in the cookie or host server. One of the ways we use cookies is to identify computers that are being used to make visits to our web site. Please note that if you enter our web site from another web site, the other site may use cookies to learn of your visit to our web site. We have no control over cookies used by other sites.
I. Children
We do not use any of our online sites or services to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.
J. Privacy policy changes and notices.
MCS reserves the right to change or supplement this privacy policy at any time and we will notify you of any changes as required by law. By accepting the terms and conditions of this privacy policy, you agree to receive privacy policy changes and notices at this web site and to review this privacy policy from time to time in order to stay informed of changes which may occur. You also agree that we may send you privacy policy changes and notices by email.
K. Consumer choice.
Should you choose not to accept the terms outlined in this privacy policy, or any modified or revised version hereof, you may withdraw from the applicable MCS programs you have joined. You may withdraw from a program by visiting
www.mastercard.com/withdrawal/. If you withdraw from any MCS program, or if your account is otherwise closed or inactive, MCS may retain the Personal Information we have collected in connection with that program but will not disclose the Information except as permitted by law. Once you withdraw from a MCS program, you will no longer have access to that particular service.
L. Specific MCS Program Privacy Policies.
As noted above, some of the programs offered by MCS may have specific additional privacy policy provisions and, before signing up for a particular program, please carefully review the additional privacy policy provisions applicable to that program.
