I too have gone back to intel(well I don't build systems for a living but I do upgrade like a maniac heh) after having an AMD proc(1.2Ghz T-bird) for a while. I actually went a totally new intel system vs. upgrading, and then upgraded the AMD system to an XP 1600+ chip(agoia goodness heh). But actually after the switch to intel again, I was kind of disappointed at my specific 1.6A(supposedly legendary) that couldn't go past 1.9Ghz without crashing like a mofo. So then I swapped it out for a 2.4Ghz chip, and it now hits around 2.66 stably(stock cooling for both, no more expensive alpha coolers for me-the AMD system has an Alpha though).
I think it's actually the stupid Epox 4G4A+ limiting me though...even though some reviews said it's a good clocker board I have my own doubts about those idiotic claims...ugh...
I know it's definitely not the PSU because I swapped out my existing 350WATT unit in the hopes of taking the 1.6A higher, and it was a 550Watt Antec TRUEpower that I put in, and it lets me clock no higher =(
So I'm actually pretty disenchanted with Intel's supposedly easy OC's...but then I've ordered like a bazillion intel systems since then in the form of laptops. I bought and sold off two Dell Celeron laptops, and then recently the hpshopping deal I jumped on to get an X1000 with Centrino But I also did order 2 Compaq 2100Z's which are AMD, so...
I guess I run pretty even between the two then =) The day will come though when we might no longer have a choice though, seeing as how AMD's financials are down the tube now.
