What it is, is a do not email spam registry, sign up with your email and you go into a list they provide to spammers of people who do not want spam. If you still get spam they claim they will track down who the end merchant is and complain directly and in force to them.

This is one I can wait a bit on before joining.

not to rain on anyone's parade...but have you gotten any spam from a merchant that is likely to CARE what the "community" thinks? I'm thinking this "Community" list is a great way for spammers to get a list of email addresses of people who actually read their email....

A month or two back someone posted a thread here about a free beta test of Trend software's antispam. I've been using it since then and am very happy-only one or two false positives and one or two false negatives in all that time.

I'm not sure if that deal is still around (my copy is still operational and updates), but it is well worth doing a search here to find it, in my opinion.

It almost sounds as if "complaining" means massive community DDOS attack.

Problem I have is that they plan to give all the email addresses to every spammer, which I think assures emails get on spam mail lists of some.

Some spam operations, certainly the most annoying, move around all the time and could care less if we don't want the spam.

I use gmail... nothing bad has ever gotten through their filters and nothing good has ever been blocked. It's free and I trust it.
