Anyone who truly cares about their dog would do themselves a favor to read up on the nasty ingredients and by-products that go into most commercial dog foods.

Take the information for what it is worth to you. If you find it to be valuable, look for some of the "human-quality ingredients" based dog foods that are on the market. Most are pricier than standard dog food but I think it is worth it in the end.

Don't get too carried away with the hype! That site seems to be from an extreme point of view... the same can be said about human food. Oh my, pets get fed the parts of the animals that humans won't eat... Watch some nature shows on tv and see just where the lions eat from first... it isn't the sirloin steaks...

There's nooooo way that I'm going to be feeding the dogs "organically grown" steak and chicken and liver! *I* don't even eat as well as they want me to feed my dogs. Plus, I don't think I have a holistic veterinarian to go to in this area. But, that site did make me realize that there's nothing wrong with table scraps for my dogs. (they suggest blending the meat and pastas and vegetables together... I'll let my dog's mouth and stomach blend them together)

[edit]: spent some time browsing their site... just another animal rights group that is getting a little too carried away (like PETA)
