You can get free USPS boxes from the post office or their website.
It has been like that for a long time.

These are different. They are ebay co-labeled and you must be an ebay member to get them. But yes, most people have known about USPS free boxes from the post office, but it's a good reminder a couple times a year.

I don't know if I want people to know I am shipping something for a transaction on ebay though.

Just a note. The small square box is wonderful and tough to find at post offices. Great for shipping oem hard drives, optical drives, cpus, and memory. You can always tape over the "Ebay" part of the box.

Keep in mind that at least part of the reason Priority Mail has gone from 2 pounds, $2.90 when it was introduced is because of people abusing the "free" supplies (most especially tape). This is evident by the post office's relatively recent inclusion of "USPS Priority Mail" scrolled on the unprinted side of Priority Mail boxes.

Order 'em if you'll use them for their intended use.

This save you 40+ cents because your doing the label at home and it will print the DC right on the thing as well. Can be placed on anything, any box ebay or not, and it saves you money. Doesnt say on the site but when you print it out the dc will be on the page

Just remember that by using online delivery confirmation your package does not get tracked and there is no record of being shipped. If you use this method, and want it tracked, you have to bring it to the post office and have them scan it in and put a stamp priced of $0.00 on it in order for the package to get into the system.

Most Post Offices have rules against scanning in to the system prepaid packages. If you make nice with them you have a shot.

I'm wondering what you are worried about?

You mean you're worried USPS employees are going to steal from you because the boxes say ebay?

Is there anybody who believes that shipping boxes without eBay markings don't contain "goods"?

But doing it online or at the store they still scan it and either way they are not tracked anyhow with the USPS. All it does is tell the buyer that with the dc number given the item was accepted and then it tells you once they got it. But no in between saying it was scaned at such a office at such a state. Just it was accepted and it was delivered. And the link I provided isnt prepay. Its just to make a label and get free DC. You still have to slap it on there and go to the PO and pay for the shipping at which they will scan the dc number

I think you misunderstood.

When you print out a prepaid label with DC from the Post Office it shows up online as "The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on "some date" to expect your package for mailing. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."

If you send this package no information will show up until it is delivered. BUT, if you can get the post office to scan it in, again with a postage of $0.00, you now have a record that it was shipped. Online it will read something like: "Your package was accepted at "your post office location" and is in delivery mode, or whatever"

This way the buyer actually knows you shipped it whereas if you just drop off a package with prepaid postage your buyer will never know. It only proves you printed a shipping label and NOT that it was shipped. If it gets lost there is absolutely no proof that you actually mailed it.

BUT UNFORTUNATELY!!!!!!!!!!! It is now policy for the Post Office to NOT scan in prepaid packages. I repeat, it helps to have a friend there in order to get it scanned in.

Priority Boxes are always available FREE from the USPS Website, and there is not such a limit. Boxes come 25 to a box and you can get many sizes and shapes all delivered to your door free

They do not say Ebay, so big deal

To funny, I just ordered some of the "Box 4" and it shipped a 25 pack carton. So much for the 10 a day limit

I did that once and really pissed them off. They took my box apart and told me that the boxes are used for priority mail only and what I tried to do was a federal crime. They gave me a stern talking to about what it says on the site that I could be charged and they will if I tried it again. Ended up having to ship it priorty mail and the last time I tried that. They seem to know if it is their box or not even turned inside out so be careful if you do this and get a pissed off postal worker not carring a gun and has to take out aggresion on someone.
