You'd think there would be someone in America who could run for President who didn't suck and actually had a chance at winning. I was always a fan of John McCain. A war veteran who survived several months (years?) in an enemy prison camp, goes aganist his own party when he feels he has to, very intelligent man, and was working to get the special interest money out of US politics. I know all of you like Gore cause you hate Bush, and like Bush cause you hate Clinton/Gore, but I actually liked John McCain and not because I had to choose between the lesser evil.
Bush avoided the Vietnam war, got C's in all of his classes in college, used to use cocaine, and was an Alcoholic, had a DUI, and can barely string together a speech without making one at least 1 or 2 verbal errors. He's my President, and I support the man in office, but I can't hope but wish for someone better.
Al Gore thinks he invented the internet, is unable to make up his mind without looking at polls, is constantly redressing himself based on what the voters think he should wear, believes in the rights of Tobbaco farmers and is against Big Tobbaco, was a huge stoner in college (although he did admit it and get far better grades than George W. Bush), and I find him to be generally unlikeable.
We deserve better than these people. We deserve intelligent, well-spoken, honest, brave, and patriotic people in the highest office in the land. Not spineless, draft dodging, poll obsessed canidates that we somehow seem to get again and again. Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, Eisenhower, Roosevelt. These are the Presidents we should be comparing George W. Bush and every President who lands in office against. The best of the best. I hope to be around when a truly great President inhabits the office once again.
