If anyone is serious about purchasing a vehicle, the $19.99 that CarFax charges for 30-days of access is more than well worth it. I signed up for a 30-day plan about a week back. I've already submitted about 20 reports.

Sal,

I just ran one of the free CarFax reports and the same information is present on both reports. I was just reading the NBC4 link before I clicked it to run the report and it looks like the reports are free this weekend only. I'm not sure if the free link will be present on Monday or not.

The link will die around 8 am Monday morning. That was what happenned last year. You can run more than one report by deleting your cookies.

I just tried running one and got an "Unauthorized Request" message. Does this mean that it really did end at midnight or that I need to clear my cookies?

Form is completely filled out ... maybe it doesn't like my car's VIN (old car, 1971)

They say on the front page that they only have VIN's from 81' on. I tried my 78' MG, nothing, not enough characters in the VIN
