cool post! now i can finally use my chinese paper, chinese eraser, and chinese hands that i've always neglected to use due to the lack of this. hmm yeah!

The Chinese would vehemently disagree with you. To them Taiwan is very much a part of China.

I agree Chinese covers China and Taiwan but China does not own Taiwan. China would like to take back Taiwan but Taiwan refuses and insist that they are an independent country.

The word Chinese do not just mean the natives of China. Chinese that are born in countries other than mainland China are also called Chinese, so in this case, Chinese pencil made in Taiwan is perfectly ok because the people in Taiwan are also Chinese(although some of them tend to like to play with words like Taiwanese because they do not want to associate themselves with the Communists in China). I would think the word Chinese is used to address people who are of Chinese descent in the same sense as the word Caucasian when addressing Whites.

I wonder if some jokester of the forums put this up and see how many people fly to this deal. hahaha.... I don't use pencils and hardly use a pen. I can type about 73 times faster than I can write. And when I do write, it's on a digital pad or PDA....

Political correctlly, there is one China. MAINLAND China and Taiwan are both part of China. Some, if not all, taiwanese seek independence from China.
However, China will reunion again, I believe.
