No way, my nephew works at Chipotle, and says half their ingredients come out of a CAN! Baja Fresh is AUTHENTIC FRESH Mexican, and they pride themselves on making everything without any cans or microwaves.

Chipotle is half-ways between Taco Bell and Baja Fresh with regards to freshness and authenticity.

Wake up. McDonalds owns Chipotle. Ronald McDonald doesn't make authentic anything, except for cholesterol.

A lot of people also like The Olive Garden, but that doesn't make it good, or authentic Italian either.... :disgust:

What in a chipotle burrito comes out of a can? Tortilla? nope. Meat? nope. Rice? nope. Beans? I would imagine so but probably the same as everywhere. Veggies? nope. Salsa and sourcream. Who knows. McDonalds last time I heard did not even have a controlling share in the company.

Exactly. Besides, McD's will soon spin off Chipotle from what I hear.

Chipotle uses free range chicken, beef and pork for all their meats. This is very impressive, IMO... I don't think the other chains can say that.

Well hey, Taco Bell ("Make a run for the bathroom") uses dehydrated meat... it has to be reconstituted before preparation... and a lot of people still seem to think it's the dog's bollocks...

Wendy's owns Baja Fresh, so what's your point? I would consider both to be "AUTHENTIC FRESH Mexican" as much as I consider all the fast food joints to be "AUTHENTIC FRESH Hamburgers"

That said, I greatly prefer eating Chipotle over Baja Fresh.

I've been to a couple of authentic places around SF. God, when those burritos hit your stomach it's like a bomb went off and all your hunger was destroyed for the rest of the day.

Baja fresh but more expensive and worth every penny. However for a $6 burrito you really can't complain about Chipotle especially not about the Niman Ranch pork.

As for Olive Garden...ha...ha if anyone thinks that's good Italian. I'll show you an endless pasta bowl: Take a $0.79 box of pasta, boil in water for 5-9 minutes depending on what's on the box, add a $1.79 bottle of Ragu and there's your endless pasta bowl.

So what Wendy's owns Baja Fresh? Wendy's could own Per Se or Charlie Trotter's for all I care.

Sure you could argue that neither Chipotle nor Baja Fresh are authentic, but Baja Fresh is definitely sonewhat closer to authentic and quite a bit more fresh without a doubt. Sometimes I crave the Chipotle southwest style taste and at other times I crave the Baja Fresh more subtle fresher taste.

BTW, those you who don't like Baja Fresh have you tried it more recently? I used to hate it too, but they redid their menu at some point and it is much better and with healthier options and bigger portions.

There's a reason why I included the original quote in my reply.

I thought the two were pretty much mutually exclusive...

Sort of but what I meant was that when I used to go back in the day, their burritos really weren't very filling and they were kind of dry. Now they have these platters with a good amount of solid white meat chicken, lettuce, beans and rice. As long as you hold the cheese and sour cream it's a very good amount of protein with little fat and quite filling.

Wendy's owns baja fresh But i think they bought it. IF you go to chipolte.com you'll see a very waspy looking balding idiot talking about authentic mexican food. That ain't gangsta.

And the best burritos are actually the ones you get from those run down shops by the store, but baja fresh is easily the best franchised mexican place.
