Here are some ways I personally shop for hot deals. I am posting this to help everyone out and spread the ability for ATOT users to find hot deals and improve the forum.
Feel Free to Post Other Links / Tips to Update this Guide
There are no referral links in this post, just FYI, so feel free to use the links.
Also, for those who want visual aids and examples here is a *.pdf I made for it from various sites.

With that said here ya'll go!
Most of this is common sense, some people might already use this, but this is for those who purchase online and want to save money on their purchases and don't really know where to start. Most of this is tech related, though most of these sites can be used for purchasing anything online.
I have broken it down into 4 steps:
1. Price Search
2. Find Reviews
3. Find Coupons / Find Cash Back
Nice work, OP, but you forgot one VERY important thing about HD'ing:
4. Pay with a Credit Card that pays you back.
Whether it be cash back, flyer miles, points, stock, etc., using a CC with benefits gives you the most out of bargain shopping.
------------------------
BEFORE WE START!
Before we start anything we will need a few items:
1. a computer with internet access
2. pen and paper
3. calculator (if you want to do some math / tax)
4. adaware ( www.lavasoft.de ) -This is used to remove possible conflicts and spyware/ malware, which can cause your computer to send personal data to sites you do not want to be sent to.
5. Google Toolbar or Firefox or Pop Up Blocker - some of these sites have nasty pop ups, we use this just to stop these darn things. http://toolbar.google.com
PHASE 1 - PRICE SEARCH:
Gotta love competition! This process is very simple. Use a price search engine and record the 4 lowest prices and the stores associated. Why four? Because you may have a BS website in the search (we will discuss this next).
Here is a list of reliable price search engines:
1. http://www.froogle.com
2. http://www.bizrate.com
3. http://www.mysimon.com
4. http://www.shopping.com
5. http://www.shopping.yahoo.com
6. http://www.pricegrabber.com
7. http://www.dealtime.com
8. http://www.pricewatch.com (technology)
Also, check out hot deal sites for the latest deals. They might have something that you need.
STAGE 2 - Find Reviews of the Online Retailer
Internet = Easy Fraud. This way we just make sure we a purchasing a legit item, from a legit store, and not handing our money over to Igor in Russia. Just got to an online review site and browse/search for the website in question
Here are some great online retailer review sites:
1. http://www.resellerratings.com
2. http://www.fat******.com/forums/retailerratings/
3. http://www.bizrate.com
4. http://www.epinions.com (this website reviews individual products)
5. http://search.bbb.org/search.html (Better Business Bureau?s Official Website)
Go through the stores with the lowest prices and make sure they AT LEAST have an average. Personally, I only buy from stores with at least an above average rating.
STAGE 3 - COUPONS
This step takes all of 5 minutes and can save you tons.
Now here is a little background and what to expect in this chapter on online discounts. You will encounter two types of online coupons.
1. Click 4 Coupon: Click 4 Coupons are the most common. Basically, you find a coupon offer on an external website for a shop you want a coupon for. You click on that offer and you will be sent to the online shop you desire. Now, when you are the shop as soon as you put an item that you want in your cart the coupon will be applied! This is basically an easy way for the reseller to track hits/referals
2. Promotional / Coupon Codes: This type of coupon has to be manually typed into and applied by you. Most of the times when you are checking out of a store there is a box that says ?enter promo/coupon code? here. Type in your code and then press the apply button if applicable. If this is a valid coupon code your discount will be applied.
Whichever coupon type you have, remember to DOUBLE CHECK! Make sure those coupons are applied!
Here are some sites I use:
NOTE: DO NOT POST ANY COUPON CODES IN THIS THREAD OR ANAND!
NOTE: DO NOT POST ANY REFERAL LINKS IN THIS THREAD OR ANAND!
1. http://www.techbargains.com/coupons.cfm
2. http://www.slickdeals.net
3. http://www.google.com (a basic search with the stores name and the word ?coupon?
yields tons of coupons.)
4. http://www.dealtaker.com/coupons.html
STAGE 4 - CASH BACK
OPTION A:
Cash Back: Websites that send you to a shop get something called a referral fee of a certain percent of what you buy. Cash Back is when these referring websites GIVE BACK some of that referral income to you, the buyer, in the form of cash.
Cash back is the least known product of online shopping and good cash back websites are few and far between. Coming up, we will guide you to legitimate high paying percentage cash back sites and what you need to do to get your money into your hands.
There are two main sites that do this, create an account with both since one may have higher cashback rates then the other for certain websites
1. http://www.fat*******.com
2. http://www.ebates.com
Make sure you have a PayPal account because that is the form of payment most use.
(DL the *.pdf to see how to set these accounts up)
Takes anywhere from 1 day - 6 weeks depending on how the referals are paid to the company.
OPTION B:
Become and Affiliate.
Make money from purchasing items from a link that you created and host. This can be an indepth process but if you are internet savvy enough it is really easy to do and pays you more than websites (in most cases). Look for the "affiliate" side button, or "partner", or "sales", etc... to do this.
USE A CREDIT CARD THAT PAYS YOU BACK!
Thanks OTAKING!
4. Pay with a Credit Card that pays you back.
Whether it be cash back, flyer miles, points, stock, etc., using a CC with benefits gives you the most out of bargain shopping.
REVIEW OF WHAT WE HAVE DONE:
now let?s review what we did.
First, we used various price search engines to find the four (4) best prices and wrote the websites down.
Second, we used review sites to make sure that the websites are legitimate
Third, we hunted down those incredible coupons!
Fourth, we found our merchant on a cash back site, logged in, and visited the merchant from there.
Finally, we found our product from that merchant, added to our cart, applied our coupons, and checked out.
