Free Contact Lenses

Just bumped into this on TV, but you can get a certificate redeemable for these contact lenses. A couple easy questions on the second page and you can print out a certificate.

These are the lenses I use and I like them, then again, I just got them and haven't tried anything else.

Can these be ordered online or do you HAVE to go and get an in-person consultation to get the lenses? I know my prescription--heck, I even use older acuvue lenses--but I would hate to spend the extra $50 for an exam.
Where can I use this certificate online that will not ask for official documentation of my prescription?
Nice find, though. I really need to order some contacts cheaply (mine are OLD).

This is a cold deal UNLESS you already don't have a contact lens precription or already using these lenses. All you get is a pair... there are 6 pairs in a box that is roughly $25 (depending where you buy them). Assuming $25... that a savings of about $4. Not worth paying for a new contact lens fittings.

Anyone know of this Hydraclear stuff is just marketing or does it actually work. I have my doubts...

I actually just switched from Acuvue 2's to Acuvue Advance last week. I had a problem with my eyes drying out when I wore my Acuvue 2's, which I had worn for probably 5 years. People always thought I was really tired (or maybe really high ) because my eyes were always red. In the week or so that I've had the Acuvue Advances I haven't really had any red eye issues like I used to get with the Acuvue 2's. Plus the Advance actually feel a little "smoother" (don't know if that's the right word" then the 2's. In short, I like them a lot better and definitely think they are worth the extra $4 or $5 per box (Advance are $19.95 at Costco for a box of 6). But I'd say if you don't have any problems with you current lenses then these probably aren't worth it. Ask your eye doc for a trial pair, they should willingly give them out and let you try them... That's what made me decide to buy a box. I don't leave mine in BTW, although I wear them for probably 16 hours a day.

It's good that we know about these new lenses, but generally when you see an optometrist/opthomologist you get a free trial pair as part of your consultation. This coupon just makes people go to the optometrist and lets the optometrist know that you are interested in these particular lenses. It's great business sense for J&J and a good way for people to get to try a new kind of lens.
