It's free if you want to control only 2 computers. Actually it says Trial Version - I'm not sure what that means. Trial versions of their other products that I've tried have limited functionality and don't expire.

Wow. I was expecting it to be cheesy, but this software looks better than the physical KVM I usually use. The KVM uses keyboard shortcuts whereas this uses the mouse and of course the KVM doesn't support clipboards and whatnot. The V advantage of the KVM I don't use anyway since I have so many monitors laying around. ^^

Not to thread-crap, but, you should also take a look at Synergy2. It does the same thing as Multiplicity, but, it's 100% free software. Been using Synergy2 daily for about half-a-year now and it hasn't given me any problems at all.

For Linux users who don't know about it already, you can use a program called x2x. Free and does almost the same thing.

They have a free "lite" version that you can try out first. Other than some crashing on my machine, it works very well.

If you're really desperate for the Mac, get the WindowBlinds as well. It includes a Panther skin for Windows.

This Mobydock doesn't look too promising since their last news flash is dated November 2003.

You can get a free version of Objectdock to see if you like it - on second thought, the free version is pretty crippled.

I don't mind paying for software ... if it works well.

And this is surely something I'd pay for if it works well. (The Pro so I could use it with more then 2 boxes)

I have dual monitors now on one machine but I have an extra computer. Does this allow me to still have dual monitors on my main machine while letting me switch one monitor for the secondary one or do I lose the dual monitor capability?

This looks like True Launch Bar, which is a fantastic utility to extend the launch bar capability. Its not free, but I use it and definitely recommend it (without seeing these other apps yet.)

Thanks for Synergy tip. Multiplicity is cool but this seems excellent as well (and MP is $40, otherwise its nagware).

Took a few minutes to figure out how it wants to be configured, but that's no big deal and its very configurable.

It also applies my mouse button shortcuts (ie Delete button etc.) on the remote machines, which multiplicity can't do. :thumbsup:

seems awesome for using an old laptop as a 2nd monitor/2nd computer will make it easier for me to control videos on laptop from main pc just what i wanted. theres maxivista..but thats for making your laptop into just a backwards pc anywhere type slave display 2nd monitor for your main pc. and u know how pcanywhere is with video..bleh. with this i guess the laptop will be basically a 2nd monitor..2nd cpu more or less

You should try YZDock. Its freeware and has been flawless for me so far.
