Cool, I think this is the one that uses bayseian logic or whatever. I use a similar one called Popfile which you can also get at source forge I believe.

This one is a little different. It categorizes Spam in 3 categories, Spam, Good Mail, and Unsure. Most filters only sort by Spam and Good Mail.

It works very well....It uses Bayesian theory...(the probablity of 'c' knowing 'a' and 'b')....Essentially knowing what is SPAM and what is not SPAM from previous runs it gives the email a probability of being SPAM the filters based on thresholds you set.

I've been using SpamNet as well, but the Beta stopped working for me and I had to subscribe after my 30 day trial ran out. Luckily, a guy from gave me his referall code so I could get the service for a $1.99 a month, which is well worth it for the service provided.

(If anyone's interested, I can give them the referral code to get the $1.99 price. I didn't see anything in the rules regarding referral coupons like this, but PM me if it's not allowed... just trying to help people get 50% off a good spam service)

um, i still use spamnet beta for free. as long as you're using their beta software, u dont have to worry about the fee. if anyone's still interested in the beta software, i have it somewhere. PM if u want it.

Anyone know how to turn this program on? I have set up my folders and have gone thru all of the settings and "trained" the software. When I try to use the "DELETE AS SPAM" button, it says I must enable the program first. How do I do this?

I had to upgrade to the newer, non-beta version because the beta was not working right with Outlook 2003 Beta 2.

Been using SpamBayes for a few months now. Have a database of 13187 good messages and 388 spam messages and it has been 100% accurate in detecting spam.

This was on /. a while back. It works well if you download all of your mail from the server, ie .pst. If you keep it on the exchange server it doesn't work at all. You still need a server spam solution. I use Mail Essientials. Catches THOUSANDS of spam a day for me.

I use this filter at home and at work. It actually catches more spam than our corporate IT filter. I trained it one day with all the good messages in my inbox (probably 1500 messages) and with my deleted containing nearly all spam.

This filter has yet to tag a false positive email. I highly recommend using this.

There are only 2 issues I have found:

1) Only Outlook, NOT Outlook Express
2) If the very first message in your inbox is a spam, it will not catch it properly.

AMHECK--

Goto the AntiSpam manager from the dropdown area next to your "This is Spam" button.

In the new window that opens, in the bottom area under "Filter" is a checkbox labeled "Enable Filtering"

The other thing, click the "Define Filters" button. In this window, you will need to configure the "Certain Spam" and "Possible Spam" areas to set them to "Move" to Folder "WHAT EVER YOU CALLED YOUR FOLDER"

These things should get you going.
