I suggest you do what I did and call sales BEFORE the install while you
still have some leverage. My install guy was late yesterday and when I
called to complain I had the phone rep check the notes on my account
and the sales person had updated my account to show they would protest
any charges if I cancel after one month just like she said she would.
That's one more weapon if I do end up getting charged for cancelling.

Other than the install guy being late the install was flawless.

Do what I just did, I called sales again and taped the entire conversation. I also said "Will this be good tomorrow too, January 31st" to get the date in. Pretty much same conversation as the other 2 (I ordered the 21st). I said I was interested in this deal for my parents. Highlights:

"System is FREE"

"Shipping is about $26" presumably she meant $24.95 + tax

This rep said "NO COMMITMENT" not even a month was mentioned.

Then I asked about two receiver systems. "Well, it's $49 if you commit to one year and $99 with NO COMMITMENT".

Yeah, they have a leg to stand on. I installed it this past weekend myself because I wanted it wired my way. I now have 100% confidence they won't be screwing with me when I activate it tomorrow.

I just got off the phone with three reps., they kept transferring me from one to the next. the first one in sales said that the Friends and Family has a 1 yr commitment and she can't do anything and tranferred me to the order taking people. this person told me that it's only 1 month commitment and transferred me back to sales. obviously i was not happy and started complainning, she said she'll update my account to show I don't need 1year commitment. I guess you need to complain and find a nice rep. and ask her to update your account.
