3.1. Receive promotional offerings via email of various products and services from third party Merchants listed on our sign up page (the ?Merchants?). At a minimum, you agree to accept at least one email from those listed Merchants; or (if you elect to not receive the promotional offerings):

3.2 Pay us, prior to the effectiveness of the desired domain name registration, the applicable service(s) fees for the initial one (1) year registration of the domain name and, should you choose to renew the registration, subsequent renewals of the registration. All fees are non-refundable, in whole or in part, even if your domain name registration is suspended, cancelled or transferred prior to the end of your then current registration term. Your requested domain name will not be registered unless we receive actual payment of the registration fee.

Two questions. Where they say you agree to accept at least one email from those listed Merchants;, do they mean you have to accept and purchase a product from those vendors, or strictly have to receive a piece of spam from those merchants before asking to be removed from their spam list.

Second question is: Can anybody find what their registration fee is should they decide that you didn't fulfill 3.1 of the agreement. I found that the reinstatement fee from them is $250, which seems high to me. I therefore have to wonder how high a registeration fee they could have up their sleeves.

now that i look at it, it looks to me like it is meant for people who want to register their businesses online. they say they can provide you with traffic to your business site so that you can begin to sell stuff over the internet. traffic directed from www.shopnow.com

I went ahead and registered, was a quick sign up process. I used a hotmail account and set a filter to process any mail comming from @domainzero into a seperate folder which I will read.

Look for borism.net soon

I'd like to know if submitted names are subjected to sniping.
When ya get 50 instant rejections for submissions, but then a 5 minute lookup
returns a rejection, that's potentially enought time for someone to look at the name,
and if they think it has potential, regester it ahead of you if they want...
whaaa.

"...will be mailed to you shortly."
I hope they're talking about email, not snailmail..........

You can register for $12 or so... If it is for a business I'd go pay someone $12 bones and call it even. I can't remember what registrar it was that only cost $12 but dotster is only $15/year. techdeals dot net has the one for $12 somewhere (probably in the archive).

Lurch and others, don't just cut and paste a bunch of crap on here, it filles space, and if we wanted to read it we would have on their site.
If you're trying to do us a favor please filter the BS and let us know in 2 short sentences what the deal is.

Thanks.

LG.

This guy trulfe (who started this thread) must be
be the owner of domainzero.

I tried it and there is no way to use the name.

That really sucks.

Don't giveup your thoughts(website names)
for FREE to domainzero.com and namezero.com.

sorry gopalkk,
but the owners of this website are network commerce. they are a public company traded on the nasdaq. look on the bottom of the page before you speak.

Yeah, domainzero is legit. Signed up yesterday night, woke up this morning to find myself a new domain. Better go get yourself a url before everybody else finds out about this and bastardize it like namezero.

They use enom.com as their nameserver.

littleman, namezero does not offer you free domain name. Namezero will let you register a domain name for free BUT you cannot store anything on their server, therefore, you cannot host your website on there. It's basically a portal that'll let you use your own domain name for the purpose of simplicity (since you'll have a 'common' name as your URL). Plus, they have advertisements up the yingyang.
