My thoughts and prayers go out to the Earnhardt family in these tough times. But at the same time, what did you expect? No one is invincible, and driving a race car @ 180Mph around a track with other guys trying to beat you makes you even less. I would think that if you acknowledge the dangers of the sport and are still willing to participate, why would you refuse to imploy some of the safety devices other drivers won't drive without? That's foolish. I just don't like the way people are reacting towards his death. He died hitting a wall at 180Mph. What about the drivers and pedestrians who die everyday because they were struck by some speeding driver, or the fans at the races that get injured, even killed? I think his passing is sad, but lets not make a huge deal out of it. Look at Bobby Phills. Yes, I hate to see anybody go, but what do you expect when someone who is notorious for speeding, crashes his speeding Porsche into oncoming traffic? I am not trying to downplay the deaths of these celebrities, but please, think twice about people who die everyday before you starting mourning and crying your hearts out over this recent death.
