Hey....Question. I know that if you fill out the right occupations they offer magazines to you for free. Could anyone with luck post any good magazines they have gotten through filling out your occupations. I have gotten industry mags lately, but am looking for a few good mags.

**BEWARE**

I just tried to get it and when they installed the audio manager software it trashed my windows98 system! To be specific it deleted my MSVCRT.dll from my windows system directory. Software insisted on a reboot and KABOOM! no msvcrt? no reboot! It Insisted that I must re-install windows. Being the computer nerd that I am, I dropped to DOS and coppied a backup of the missing dll back to that dir and now everything is fine. And a quick visit to add/remove got rid of the offending Audible Audio manager. Nuff said...

WARNING REPEATED!!!!!
This just trashed my WIN98SE system as well.... I tried to recover a backup of the missing DLL but that didn't solve the problem.. It trashed my system and also (perhaps I should thank it?) deleted AOL.. I forgot that was still on my hard drive. Anyway, BEWARE.. I am rather computer savvy, as the other guy having problems was.. There is something SERIOUSLY wrong with this software.. It's a damn shame cuz i LOVE Carlin, and also had Hitchhikers Guide, 1984, Men are from mars, women from venus, and rich dad poor dad (good investment book)... now i am back after spending an hour reinstalling.. quite pissed. WATCH OUT!

I just downloaded it from an e-mail I received from bizmags last night. I unistalled my old audible manager(at the web sites request) downloaded the new 3.5 version (I wanted the burn to CD function). My computer works fine and I also have 98SE. The burn to CD is a nice feature. You can now burn all your books that you have in your personal library with Audible.com to CD's and listen to them anywhere.

registered, but did not install ActiveX stuff. It's in my library ... will try later on a spare machine.

A note about installing internet stuff.... there're tons of sites that try to install & run,
I simply choose to install only reliable ones & ones I have no choice for (XP windows update) & Flash, & some others.
I tend to worry more about reporting usage info & the like, more than stability issues.

Never heard of a browser install doing as much damage... as messing w/ sys files.

TampaFlash: Is your security settings for your internet browser set to default or "medium" in IE? Just making sure.

Great deal!! I forgot I had the Audible.com player on my computer, but as esquared suggested, I uninstalled my older version and downloaded their new (Mar 2002) version 3.5. The burn to cd function works great (I, too, use XP Pro). I downloaded and burned the "Hitchhiker's Guide", "1984", and today they added "Band of Brothers" for free. Hitchhikers and BoB took 4 cds each to burn, but sound great (you can download different quality versions and I downloaded the 2nd best quality - tried the 3rd best and it just sounded like someone was talking in a tunnel). I'll have to check back periodically to see if new titles are added.

I respond honestly with IT/finance occupation information and I've previously received Boating and Gear magazines. Today I went back out there and after getting the Carlin audio and filling out the questionnaire I was offered
