Here is my reason why I am babbling about this: I know that Newegg delivers packages to me in 2 days even though it is FedEx Express Saver or UPS 3 day. But ground packages also will be delivered to me in 2 days.
I would love to get "free" shipping or near free shipping if ground is cheaper as it will still be delivered in 2 days.

Is ground shipping really that much cheaper? I forget where I saw a retailer offering both air and ground, but the ground shipping was only about 45 cents cheaper.

Well I know companies probably get a discount shipping UPS or FedEx etc.
As for most other people such as you and I ground will probably be a lot cheaper to ship with than express.
Go to fedex.com and go to calculate rates. Now plug in some resonable data and compare ground with express. Quite a bit of difference.

Nope, it was back in the black powder days.
In fact, when hunting Antelope, 18 was the limit with no more than 6 in possession at one time.
Fact: One time my dog (a Chow) ran down an Antelope. So much for the myth of endurance among those antlered sage deer. After my first taste of Antelope, I quit hunting 'em.
I did poach a lot of venison, however. If it weren't for the *free* deer meat, I would have starved as I was too broke to buy food and too proud to steal.
The summer after I graduated HS, I worked as a ranch-hand, doing irrigating - $180/month. That's right, $6/day from sunup to sundown.
Honestly, those were the good 'ol days.
